Pitino suspended for the first 5 ACC games. Also 4 year probation, 10 year show cause for basketball director, vacated games, and forfeiture of revenue for Louisville.

The NCAA panel noted that a Head Coach does not meet his monitoring responsibility by simply trusting an individual (on his staff) to know NCAA rules and to do the right thing. Petino provided no oversight and failed to monitor his staffer.

So instead of 30% of the overall schedule they suspended him for 30% of the conference schedule. Interesting. If NCAA for whatever reason went light on Freeze with a similar punishment, he'd miss Bama, AU, and Vandy. His first SEC game back would be LSU.

Biggest thing to note here is that Pitino was not named in the NOA against Louisville. Yet he still got 5 games and a failure to monitor charge because it happened on his watch.

Louisville was only charged with 4 Level 1 violations? OM has ADMITTED to 14 Level 1's.
