love to see him at UT again...he was 0-3 against UF, just like some of your other players.

Peyton Manning was not the reason Tennessee lost those games. Anyone with a brain knows it was always Tennessee's defense getting bent over by Spurrier's offense.

I just remembered who I am responding to. This was probably just a waste of time and bandwidth

I'd have to say Jamarcus. Dude was big and had a bigger arm. I don't think anyone could beat the Tigers if we had Jamarcus. I can't pick Mettenberger, because I can't get the image of him crawling on the field at BDS out of my head.

I'd keep Kelly. He's built more for Hugh's offense than Eli would be.

In this offense we run, Kelly is a much better playmaker for how we operate. As much as I like Eli, I would take Kelly hands down. The QB must be able to run for our offense to click on all cylinders.

No Matt Jones?

With our OL looking to take a step back having a natural scrabbler like Jones is tempting. After all more then one team learned the hard way that if you blitz him to heavily there is a decent chance he will be twenty yards downfield and gathering speed as he runs past your DBs.

On the other hand... Jones was a ton of fun to watch but he was never a particularly gifted passer. Right now we have some solid talent at WR and TE. We wouldn't be able to take advantage of that with Jones to the fullest extent.

I went To the Senior Night Game against UK where Murray tore his ACL, bitter sweet memory but a fun game for sure. But with all these dual threat QBs around id have to pick Shockley could throw like a bullet and could run .

I agree. If Eli had any semblance of Archie's mobility then yeah, him, but he doesn't. So give me CK10.

to be perfectly honest, with all things considered for THIS upcoming season, that's a great choice. There's no reason to think eason can't throw similar to a stafford/murray (obviously not as good as a TFr, but I'm just talking potential with his arm) but shock gives a running dynamic that would be huge considering chubb's health and a newly shuffled OL.

Chad Kelly is a good college QB. Eli Manning has been an NFL starter and Super Bowl MVP. Y'all are crazy if you pick Kelly over Manning

Well, eli has accomplished FAR more in the nfl than he did in college. I don't think the spirit of this thread is taking a guy RIGHT NOW, and more so taking their college iteration.

Just looked up the stats and CK's stats last season are better htan pretty much every stat line eli had in his senior season. It's not THAT crazy.

Exactly.

Eli's strengths are his ability to read defenses and check plays at the line of scrimmage. You don't need those in Freeze's offense. Not to the level you do in a pro offense, anyway.

Their arm strength and ability to make the necessary throws are comparable and Kelly has tg advantage of being 10x the athlete that Eli is or ever was. He's just the better QB for what Freeze does.

No QB from our history is going to be better for the 2016 Rebels than Kelly. Our struggles this season will not stem from the QB position. It's about as strong as we could ask for.

I'd rathe pull a middle linebacker from our past. Give me Patrick Willis and I'd say this team could go all the way.

Cool thread wrangler.

I would have to say Rohan Davey. I miss that offense

Chad Kelly is nowhere near on the level as Eli. Kelly will never see any real play time in the NFL while Eli has 2 Super Bowl rings.

Backwards actually. Kelly put up better stats as a JR (and first year at OM) than Eli did even as a senior.

which is completely irrelevant to what he did in college...

Kelly has/had a way better team around him and far better receivers than Eli. Eli carried OM alone. Put Kelly on that team and he would walk off the field like that bitch boy Bo Wallace did.

It's not irrelevant that Eli has two super bowl rings as I was stating, he was actually drafted really high and is a starter for an NFL team BECAUSE he is a much better QB than Kelly could ever dream of being. Eli will be in the hall of fame, Kelly will not.

What Eli did with the talent he had was amazing that is for sure. Kelly is great and we have to see what he does this year. He has to out preform this year for it to be a real conversation. But again that's my opinion.
