Then it will be an atmosphere like somebody died, like their football program.

In March 2011 Rex Ryan visited Tuscaloosa. In April, the Jets bizarrely chose to draft Greg McElory.

Maybe the Peyton Manning invite is another last-minute gambit by Saban to get Peyton to convince fellow UT alumni Jimmy Haslam to draft McCarron?

Saban. Works on you in his sleep. Don't let it consume you.

I'm not sure how that reflects negatively on Saban. If Saban did convince Rex Ryan to draft McElroy in 2011, I have to say that's pretty solid loyalty for someone who is generally thought of as disloyal.

Because he's so much better than Christian Ponder?

I'm surprised the Vikings didn't make a trade for Matt Schaub.

Read he is their perfect quarterback to run their offensive system.

No, that's the perfect offense for Greg McElroy.

I actually think McCarron could be a legitimate option in the NFL...At some point. He needs more athleticism, scrambling ability, and arm strength. But he could get there.

Well, at least now if Alabama loses to Florida next season we'll know why.
