I find all these threads about Petrino to UF interesting. While a few journalists have put his name on a few short lists, most of the concentration by national media has been on Mullen, not Petrino. You wouldn't be able to tell it from TD threads.

I'm guessing that the fricking with Arkansas fans has resulted for two reasons, mostly:

1. Some of our posters have been obnoxious about winning, so as they say, payback's a bitch (especially for Ole Miss fans. I'd do it too, if I were you); and,

2. The traditional "SEC powers" would love to see Petrino to UF. It'd restore the balance of how things are "supposed to be." UF would get the coach they want, and Arkansas could go back to being a perennial "middle of the road" program instead of potentially being among the most competitive in the SEC, year in and year out.

It's not fricking around

Petrino was #1 on Foley's list last year and is probably #1 again.

Mullen is a smoke-screen put out there by Florida so that they can work out a deal quietly behind the scenes. Duh.

Ok, not all of is fricking around. Like I said, there are some valid reports that he could be on the short list.

But you've got to admit, there's a lot of "troll-level" ribbing going on about the topic, too.

Only because some are saying that Petrino will not take the job if offered. That I find laughable.

I said BP wouldnt be at Arky at the beginning of the year. FWIW, I hate BP has much as you hate Hootie. But not because he lead us to 10 years of mediocre seasons. But because he is a coward and left ATL at 3 in the morning.

Dude, it's been absurd. You can't slap your cock about your history and tradition in one breath, then flip your shite about finally making it to a BCS bowl due to the conference champ making it to the Championship game in another.

Your program isn't atop the SEC after one good season due to an all-world QB. I congratulate y'all for your season, but if State's running back doesn't fumble at the goal line in OT y'all would have been fifth in the SEC West this year.

Plus y'all are waaaaaayyy too easy to frick with.

I'm not saying he wouldn't. I'm not saying he would, either, though. I couldn't blame him if he took the job. I mean, hell, it's Florida.

But at the same time, I think acting like it's a foregone conclusion that he'd take it is a little short-sighted.

Actually we just want to see the Ark fall out and then the subsequent Auburn fall out if Malzahn took the Arkansas job. I won't lie I love coaching changes and speculation and look forward to seeing who Bamas next coach will be when Saban decides to retire. Not that I am ready to see him leave he is doing a great job but the new start feeling is always fun. With the position he put Bama in we should do well in a few yrs as long as he maintains what he has created. I followed LSU coaching search on Jimmy Ott show and was listening when he said he had info that LSU fans should brace themselves for the possibility that Saban would be at Bama. I remember how pissed he and everyone was when they passed on Del Rio for Miles and how glad I was they didn't get Del Rio.

You do realise how Petrio left the Atlanta Falcons, right? Notes in lockers....didn't even address the team or phone the players.

Honestly, I love it too.

Whether the Hogs win or lose, or have Petrino or don't, I'm going to be a fan of the team. I graduated from UA, spent some of my best years on campus, and I just enjoy going up on Saturdays for games, following recruiting, watching the coach's show, etc. It makes for a hell of a fall every year.

The guessing that comes with the coaching dominoes is probably just about as much fun, whether my coach is involved or not.
