Lol. Again, BK is setting a precedent with not over paying for an ok portal transfer player and having his team wonder why they aren't getting the same. BK values high school recruiting to build his program and his recruiting is JUST fine. See LSU's '25 recruiting class. Overall #1s at 3 positions. BK will only pay if MUST needed. This is LSU, we don't have to spend $1.5mil on a decent TCU DL lol

Bk left ND the same reason your defensive coordinator left y’all for lsu.
Pathetic losers alike huh

OP Still Salty from LSU beating their football team and stealing their coaches. BK is trying to build his team like UGA, OH ST etc who only use the portal for a few spots and HS players top priority.

Kind of like Saban did during the NIL days. Even the tGOAT struggled doing it this way.
BK will continue to win 9 games a year and underwhelm.

Cordelli sounds like a salty bitch.

Pete Cordell hasn’t been in major college athletics in 25 years. He worked for the ole miss radio network for years starting iirc in the late 90s, then coached as an assistant at a high school in Memphis, then Rhodes College in Memphis (DIII). That coaching gig was almost 10 years ago now. It seems most of his opinions are based on how he and Lou Holtz recruited at Notre Dame almost 30 years ago. A lot has changed since then
I actually know the guy, or did back when he was coaching high school in Memphis. He’s kind of a dick and arrogant for no reason

I would say that Cordelli really values his own opinion.
He still mad that Brian left ND for LSU.

I agree with Cordelli that there's been star bumping at Bama. Bama post-Sark/Kirby/Pruitt recruiting was a shell of itself.
I agree that the academic standards at ND preventing coaches from winning national championships is a lie. BK sent to many guys to the NFL while at ND not to have won bigger.

I don't get this portrayal of Brian Kelly as the fricking Spartans at the gates of Thermopylae with Dominic Williams and NIL. This isn't a precedent. There are plenty of players that have asked for money from a team and been told to kick rocks. Kelly is not some trailblazing pioneer on this.
LSU has a budget. Kelly didn't see the value with Williams. Is there anything more to it than that? It isn't like the entire team (like all competitive programs) doesn't have some form of NIL so it isn't like having his players paid is a line he won't cross. If some player was worth 1.5 million and Kelly saw the value, he would push for the guy to get a deal. He'd be dumb not to.
Kelly is managing his budget the way he thinks is best. Some programs are good at it. Some suck. That is about it.

Some coaches are fine with being average, and BK is proving that.

I fbeing average is walking into Columbia and bitch-slapping the best Mizzou team in 20 years on their home field I guess we'll just have to manage.

This board melted down over his recent comments for several days, they definitely behaved as if this was something they've never seen before.

Brian Kelly broke the Mizzou fanbase.

This. It boils down to ROI. Williams and Barrow were not a good ROI for the money. People tend to view NIL as a blanket price. Its not. Some guys as for the moon cuz teams are desperate for DL. Thats why they waited til spring, to elevated their value to teams. LSU just thought that the price wouldn't be a significant enough bump in production.
