There is a reason why everyone coach is being compared to Saban. Hint: Saban is the common theme, that should tell you all you need to know.

Why does it matter, Saban owns the SEC. We’ll get our piece of the pie when he decides to retire. Until then he keep collecting trophies and we’ll have to read more of these dumb arse post.

Carroll at Bama would be six NCs in a row.

Carroll had TWO heisman trophy winners on one team. Something never done before and couldnt win the NC with that talent...

I hope this thought will comfort you the next time that Saban thumps whichever school it is that you're a fan off.

I think so. But Pete had to fail his first time around in the NFL. He honed his coaching craft at USC. Hopefully Coach Saban doesn't get another itch for the NFL. But I tend to think he's done with coaching in general in five years.

Well, neither was really a great talent. More products of a system and media hype/bias.

I'll give you Leinart but you're crazy if you believe this about Reggie Bush. He was phenomenal in college.

ETA: Also, this thread is a fricking abortion.

Check out Carroll's record in Seattle before Russell Wilson showed up, then get back to me. Let's remember, he hand picked Matt Flynn to be his answer at QB before the organization stumbled on Wilson in the draft.

Also, don't forget this is Carroll's second go round in the NFL.

OK. We are blessed to have the most dominant coach in college football. Pete Carroll is a beast though. What he did at USC is remarkable.

Literally all LSU fans do on this board is start troll threads directed at Alabama. It's fricking pathetic because we own you. Deal with it, bitch.

This is just an objective fact. Lil Saban couldn't make it in the pros.

Pete Carroll was 16-16 his first two seasons in the NFL. Saban was 15-17. Carroll was fired after going 6-10 his first year in the NFL. Saban was 9-7 his first year in the NFL. Seems to me the only thing you can compare are the first two years and they appear to be very similar to me. If Carroll is so much better and would have won 6 straight titles at Bama how come he couldn't accomplish that at USC?

Meh, lucky to play out west where he could appear to be more than a situational back with better than average speed. Would have struggled in a conference more than one team deep.

I think this rediculous notion about USC's talent level under Carroll can be traced to what happened to AU in 2004.

Darren McFadden was pretty dominant in the SEC and Bush has proven to be the better back of the two. Your argument is invalid.

Carroll has been fired. Saban has not.
