Chill the frick out. We didn't handpick our own schedule.

UGAs shot was this year.

Obviously they do not draw up their own schedule but you literally cannot ask for a better schedule than what they had this year. They got the dumps of the west, AU/Tenn/GT were all horrendous, UF and USC both had to play LSU, it was just the perfect alignment for UGA.

Once again, I realize none of this is controlled by UGA I just dont ever see the stars aligning again like they did this year. Especially with how stacked your team was.

Fair enough. 2-2 overall. Les Miles shows more emotion eating a blade of grass than AJ Green did on his celebration penalty(Yes I am still butthurt about that game).

I fail to see why it's our fault that these teams aren't playing at a higher level.

It was our best shot at the whole thing in a long time, no doubt. I never made excuses for the loss but I'm also not going to apologize for winning the games we had to in order to make it to Atlanta.

If Mc Carron comes back next year Bama will be L-O-A-D-E-D at the skill positions. Will have to replace 3 Olinemen and this will be the key.

Lot of experience coming back on D too..Threepeat?

"UGA gave up 300 + yards rushing with a defense littered with NFL players, if not for int in end zone and punt return Bama routs UGA
Richt clock mgmt cost UGA a shot at national title"

This was posted earlier by an LSU fan, and is IMO an accurate summation... I do think Richt is a good coach, just not a great coach... your players played one HELL of a game, showing a lot of heart, but this assessment is accurate. You certainly didn't lack for talent....

No that post is dumb as shite. He's basically saying "if these things didn't happen, UGA wouldn't have scored as much and Bama would have scored more."

It's not. My point was that it was a great opportunity for UGA and one that I'm not sure will happen again for a long time.

I wouldn't either. With the way college football is setup, teams that are given breaks due to scheduling or not having to play in the seccg are usually the ones that come away with hardware.

Perception: Based on location, population and in-state talent, UGA has always been an underachiving program, not only recently.

Reality is that GA has been a decent team under Richt and the last two years have been a very good team. The problem for your QB and team has been match-ups. UGA hasn't matched up well with USCe at all the last two years. Just couldn't handle the QB pressure. Did well against LSU last year before shitting the bed in the second half.

But this year, your offense did match up well with the Bama D, and that made it a close game. The lack of a decent pass rush is what caused Bama problems in their 3 tight games (1 the loss to A&M). On the other haqnd, your D didn't match up as well against the Bama ground game as I thought they would.

But the perception that UGA should win but doesn't is real. Maybe it is Richt. I dunno. But UGA, with all the resources, should compete for SEC and NC most years.

Yup. Next year is brutal. We will have the firepower to keep up but our defense is suspect. The clemson game will look like a Baylor/Oregon game in the box score.
