So your telling me that an SEC coach that isn't nutt, joker, or richt will leave after this season? not really all that shocked happens pretty much every year.

Only because of his last name.

The reasons I go right to Spurrier as the coach:
1) He publicly spoke about the need for South Carolina to lower their academic standards to recruit better athletes.
2) He threatened to quit over the University's denial of admission to two players he signed.
3) he hasn't exactly torn it up since he's been at South Carolina...and its not like there haven't been PLENTY of Carolina posters and fans saying it was time for him to go.
4) The Garcia saga surely cost SOMEONE some political capital in the administration.
5) Spurrier's bizarre attack and treatment of a specific reporter at his presser.
6) He's pushing 70.
7) Wasn't there a Board of Trustees member who was saying that black players shouldn't come to USC...?
Not all of them fully formed, but there is something in my head about all of these issues...I know some of them are a few years old, and there may be a new AD in that time...I have no idea. Just throwing it out there.

That's a lot of dots connected very loosely. Seriously doubt it's HBC. Surely not Miles nor Saban.
I'm thinking Petrino is getting happy feet again since that's his M.O.

Problem is that Mal Moore owes Saban his soul. Remember, the guessing game dictates that you're supposed to consider the most likely candidate, not the one which would make you the happiest.

Yea guess that makes sense. I guess whatever amount of clout is left that comes with coaching for UT could make him one...............wait, no

He publicly answered a publicly-asked question about it. No distraction.

In, what, '05-06?

Winning the East, beating a #1 ranked team at home, beating Clemson-UF-UGA-Tennessee in the same year had never happened before he came here. And you need to quit reading Cockytalk.

LOL Wut?

5) Spurrier's bizarre attack and treatment of a specific reporter at his presser.
A verbal retort is bizarre and considered an attack?

6) He's pushing 70
Lots of coaches are, but this has nothing to do with his relationship with the AD.

Now you're just trying too damn hard

I'd bet on the Ol' Ball Coach...I think he knows this year is his shot at another title, but Garcia gone, Lattimore hurt, Alshon and Gilmore(surely) going to the NFL, as well as several others on the D....
He's outta there...
He's outta there...

Which coaches don't have a buyout clause in their contract?

Gilmore is staying. Several others on D like who?
ETA: Are you assuming we're not going to reload at those positions?
