Well I guess Brian Kelly can finally hire Tommy Rees at LSU after all.

That’s going to be awkward when he gets there and realizes Saban has the majority of his staff picked for him.
And Freeze picked his staff??

Brilliant. Lock down the PAC NW recruits and dominate like never before.

This would be the only option I would consider. If you have ANY candidate not asking for the control of the program, then they should not be considered any longer. I would not have one single trustee tell me how the program I am taking over, how it should be ran. Get the swag early and you can create great things.

You think Bama will be fine having their rushing offense rank in the 100s
Dillon Johnson avg'd 5.2 ypc and had 1195 rushing yards and 16 TDs in 2023.
That's top 20 in rushing yards on the season. Who wouldn't take that?

What could possibly go wrong here?

Washington ranked 104th in rushing yards per game in 2023.

He just needs to have control over maybe 4-5 years. If he cannot get it done then boot him. This is not going to go clean. I expect losses. I've lived through it before Saban. One thing I can say is that wins over big teams will mean more and feel better. I did get into a sense of comfort with the way Saban brought. Time to nut up and get it back on track. Alabama will not EVER be a team that goes under 500. Probably will never lose more than 3 games a year rebounding for any length of time.

Id still be shocked if UW doesn’t hire the OC. He’s top notch. The idea of bringing in a tight knit staff is appealing. Lord knows we could use some stability. But in the SEC if he succeeds the way we expect, he’s going to lose assistants. And I do think he needs at least 2-3 strong recruiters who know the right people in Southern high schools.

Yeah it was for his staff.

Wow…the cupboard is bare so he’s just cleaning out the rest of the house. That’s one well of a way to treat the Huskies on your way out.

Coaching in one of the most liberal sides of the country to leading a squad in the most conservative, red blooded American areas of America is a recipe for disaster. Kids know they aren’t playing for the GOAT anymore. Add NIL into the mix and Bama won’t get the stable they have in the past. Gonna be fun to watch Rome fall in real life.

1) Milroe? I'm thinking his talents aren't the best fit for DeBoer's system. Perhaps he is a coach that will tweak it to fit his skillset.
Jalen Hurts wasn’t a prototypical Lincoln Riley QB either. DeBoer might be exactly what Milroe needs. In college a lot of improvement can happen in 1 year.

Politics has zero to do with this and even if it did he has spent nearly all of his career in rural conservative areas.

A guy brought up a point I haven't considered.........these kids that were taking less NIL $$ to play for saban won't be doing that now. I am not sure how bama's NIL is, but they will have to step it up.

Can you imagine these clowns around here if they lose to a sabanless Bama team?
Posted on 1/12/24 at 6:48 pm to SidewalkTiger
So Huard named four guys that DeBoer would likely bring. That would mean he’d still have six spots to fill. Seems like that would be a good mix of guys who he’s coached with a long time and trusts, and some guys who know the lay of the land in the SEC.

Very possible for the first year or two. DeBoer is taking over a team with probably top 2 or 3 talent and can out talent a win in at least 7 or 8 games without thinking. Any decent coach can probably win 9 or 10 games easily with the current Bama team. Can he continue to recruit at that high level and still win?
