Missouri having two pro baseball teams makes about as much sense as Ohio having two.

Or Detroit having any pro franchise.

WTF. College baseball is dominated by white people, might not have many hispanics though.

Arkansas doesn't count as a D1 football program. See how that works?

Because no one wants to go to a state where they inbreed, and have no pro sports.

I think if you have your option of walking out of your office and across the street to catch a pro game or driving 2 hours and catching a college game, 9 times out of 10 you are going to pick the pro game.

I doubt Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina or Ole Miss have many fans driving in regularly from two hours out for a baseball game. There is no reason that Mizzou can't get 5,000+ fans regularly from CoMo, Jeff City and the surrounding small towns if they actually invested money in to the program.

So wait. You are saying that stats that that disprove your point are worthless. And something about distance from MLB cities.

Are you running for Congress?

Not sure yet, but you are beginning to convince me you could stir the pot there a little. So that can't be bad.

This.

But it's that vicious circle. Fans won't come until the dump money into it and make it competitive. But they won't dump money into it until the fans start showing up. Which comes first?

Success probably has to come first for a couple seasons but that's going to be tough to do in this league. The SEC is probably deeper in baseball than it is in football. There is an absurd amount of talent in this league.

There is now enough evidence and tried and true blueprints from other SEC schools to justify putting money into it. The Athletic Dept just has to want to do it. MO is a baseball state and the locals would watch a good product. I have no doubt.

I know nothing about the radio business. A Columbia radio station does every Mizzou game. Their online stream is hit and miss. How difficult is it for that Columbia feed to be broadcast by a local "affiliate" in St. Louis for example?

So you guys don't have state wide radio for baseball?

Oh my.....

SEC schools follow most all sports. I hope your AD is trying to change that.

My cousin came in from Illinois two years ago...We had the Razorback Invitational the same weekend as a home baseball series. Friday, we sat in the Hog Pen and drank while we watched the Hogs play baseball amongst 8k others....then Saturday, we hit up the Tyson Track Center to watch the meet.

It was quite amazing to him that so many fans go to things besides football and basketball. I'm guessing it's the same for yous guys.

I love SEC baseball. It's the reason I'm most excited about the SEC Network.

Yes, Missouri fans have choices when buying baseball tickets. But SEC baseball is different mainly because it's yet another chance to butt heads with your rivals.

I think Missouri baseball will become more popular as your fans figure out who to hate.

SEC baseball is also another chance to tailgate. Temps warm up, beers stay cold, girls wearing tank tops.

I enjoyed my trip to Columbia last year to watch LSU. My buddies have asked me about going back up there this season.

This is the SEC where college is king

Missouri is one of the most baseball crazy states in the country.

But it does not apply to their college team, and this is the SEC.
