What if AU and MSU are just reeeeeally shitty?
I mean, we are the only notable team either has played.
Now we go play a couple High School teams, which tells us nothing.
When do we find out how good this team really is?

Brilliant insight.
it's rational and logical insight, which hardly any LSU fans have had the last 24 hours.
I'd say it's welcomed.

Well Auburn did beat a decent Louisville team. From what I saw of that game yesterday, y'all prison raped AU. I was surprised at how lopsided it was.

the irony of my statement was directed more at the fact that this has been discussed ad nauseam and the OP surely is suspect for feeling the need to start a whole new topic on it.

decent Louisville team.
you are aware that Louisville is 0-3 yes? against decent competition a decent team does not go 0-3

Doesn't change alot in my opinion, I do think Auburn is going to finish right above Arkansas in the West and State right in the middle of the pack. State will win a game their not suppose to.
But yes, Auburn and Moo aren't the best benchmarks, plenty of tests remain.

Nah, I've seen enough.
Cancel the rest of the regular season. LSU, OSU, TCU, Oregon in the playoff.

They will make a bowl while playing in a P5 conference...they aren't hammered dog shite.

We have passed our initial tests and our ceiling is quite high. Depth will continue to develop in the coming weeks while our poised QB continue to improve...Hostile environments like USC will be great learning opportunities as well...the toughest part of our schedule will come at the right time..

Fully agree. A very high ceiling indeed. Yeah we have a Nov gauntlet but I think the way its set up helps us as much as it possibly can.

You'll need to explain to the rest of your LSU brethren what the word levity means.
First decent post I've seen from a LSU poster. A near loss in Starkville and a win against a horrible Auburn team and it seems as if LSU has just beaten two of the top teams in the country.
This classic SEC Rant from the consensus of LSU fans, OP. Put nothing in perspective. Assume you're the greatest team of all time because you just beat the worst team in the SEC. Nobody is surprised by any of this.

As an LSU fan, I've learned to never expect domination no matter whom we play. Sure, we've had dominating performances, but sometimes we struggle against lesser teams. Even when we had a dominant season, it was very unorthodox and the ending obviously was bad.
I'll never get too high/low with regards to LSU. I'll always be cautiously optimistic. Hell, next week against Syracuse with it being an 11am game on the road after this past week makes me a little nervous. If the teams dominates again, then I'll become more optimistic and know this team can be focused and handle success.

if we can move the ball against florida we're pretty good.
they're rebuilding and we should win the game, but their defense seems pretty good.

Honestly, perspective would be a better word choice here than levity.
A few Ole Miss fans should probably pump the brakes a bit, too.

No offense, but plenty Ole Miss fans are crowning themselves as well. Yes, you have a much better win in Alabama to date, but it was far from dominant.
Giving LSU no credit for the MSU win with it being LSU's first game of the year after an extremely awkward cancelled game and lost game experience is a bit of a mistake but your opinion is your opinion.

I think State is a decent team.
I also think AU and Arkansas will battle for last place in the west.
Either way, LSU is 2-0 in the West and right now that is all that matters.
