Please God no.

For the sanity of the rest of the SEC, no. Can you imagine how these jacklegs would act if they start winning in Basketball too?

The trouble he has been in while at UT makes me not want him. I want to win, but I would like ot do it without sanctions.

Lying to the NCAA was a terrible move, but I don't think that Pearl is a bad as he is made out to be. College recruiting is highly competitive, and all good coaches have to push the envelope. In the end, all he did wrong was a have cookout and a make few phone calls at the wrong time.

I think Slive would recommend SEC teams leave him alone for now

I'd take him, with the understanding that there is ZERO tolerance. One problem and he's out.

Pearl lied to the NCAA, but he admitted it, and to me deserves another chance. He acknowledged his wrong doings and is a good basketball coach and motivator, IMO. I think he would be a good hire at another SEC school, and he would turn that program into a winner. He isn't on Kelvin Sampson status or anything like that.

I would be shocked if this happened. I would think he would probably have to coach at a smaller school for a year or two before being offered a job at a major program. On the flip side, it would definitely make Arkansas a better team.

Regardless of who the coach is we should get 20+ wins next year.

Would be a huge success but it's too close to home under these circumstances. He needs to lay low for awhile. Maybe a few months would be enough but right now it's a hot stove, don't touch it.

I would be shocked if it happened, but I think it would be a homerun hire. If nothing else, you could agree to sit him for the first 4 or 5 games of the season, which is non conference anyway (of course that wasnt such a cakewalk for bama this year DOH!) then have him for the conference schedule and then have him free and clear happily ever after.

If yall havent noticed, im a big Pearl supporter though. I think he is a hell of a coach and needs a little slack cut his way. Like someone mentioned earlier, this isnt a Kelvin Sampson situation. It's much lighter than that.

It also is a plus for him because he admitted it without being found out and forced into it...as far as I know.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he was backed into a corner when he admitted it. I may be remembering wrong, but I think it was mostly proven before he spilled the beans and was forced into admitting it. But hell, once the lie was told, theres no way I would just up and say, "hey guys, I made a boo boo and lied through my teeth to you guys" either. The manner in which the truth came out in this situation isnt as important as the foul anyway. Which in the eyes of the NCAA is about as grievous(sp?) as it gets. But I still think he deserves another chance cause we all make bonehead moves in life. No reason to destroy a mans career for it, especially when he is as good at it as he is.
