He was funny, just a bit. He was commenting on his first days in B.ham & he said, without naming the HC, that a bama HC tried to get him fired from the newspaper. For being so anti bama. Then, he smiled & added, now, some folks think I am an ambassador for bama. Some folks. Right.

Paul started in Birmingham sports media when Bryant was still head coach. But I think he was on the radio when Perkins was head coach.
