Um... most of us don't care much for Finebaum either, but we don't allow him to dictate our fandom.

If anyone thinks Paul is a bama fan....they are the fools. He just rides the tallest wave and irritates and provokes fans of other teams that are already upset...sometimes to the point they fire their coach.

Occasionally, Finebaum has the ability to make the ESPN crew look like fools. And I like those guys and can't stand Finebaum. But early in the year...don't remember which game, maybe the day of the Tennessee game, Finebaum was on Gameday saying how bad Florida was, how bad Muschamp was, how much trouble he was in, etc., etc., and Herby and Desmond couldn't seem to get the words out of their mouths fast enough to praise Muschamp and Florida and talk about what a good year they were going to end up having. Finebaum will be dishing out the "I told you sos" in a big way Monday.

This. Whatever increases ratings, that's where Finebum's loyalties lie.

I lived in Alabama for three years back in the ninety's and I remember a radio show "Ronnie and somebody (AU) guys" who really wanted to hurt the guy.

He's nauseating and seedy in his broadcasting, but it fits with a large portion of the unwashed fan-base.

tSEC network is in reality tJerry Springer network.

I know it, at least the pre-game stuff. And it should not be that way. I love wit. But it is severely lacking.

We are the SEC, the best conference in the land. We don't need that crap.

So, lemme get this straight.

You're a SC fan, a UGA fan, and a Bama fan? And you're questioning someone else's allegiances? At least he has one and sticks to it.

At first I thought he was just pissing off the crowds, but I would prefer him not to speak until he brings something to the party.

Even Super Gator Tebow has picked against his school.
The Day Walker McElroy has picked against Bama, and/or at least had harsh words for them.

He should at least try to be like Herbie and less like Lou Holtz and Mark May.

There is an easy remedy for this: Quit listening to whatever that skeleton dipped in wax has to say. It sucks that this troll has co-opted the Bama program so heavily, but I quit listening to his show years ago and am all the better for it.

I agree, but take him off the SEC Gameday.

Finebaum is a Tennessee grad.

When he says we, he is speaking of his Alabama audience which was his base for 20-25 years, and he is speaking of Bama and Auburn fans owning Mississippi teams

I think you don't know the true facts, Paul switches allegiance like a two dollar slut. He was a Florida/Spurier man in the 90's and he was a LSU / Saban nut rider 12 to 15 years ago.

He really don't care who is the best, he is going to tel it like it is and "WE" have owned Mississippi schools.

Facts are facts.

This was a surprise to whom...?

Would be pretty awesome.

And yes, having someone that's openly biased in favor of one particular school on the conference network is problematic.

He broadcast exclusively in Alabama with his radio show for 20+ years. He's only been doing this new gig for 2 years. You can't really expect him to be 100% objective can you?

"Slightly biased? Three wks ago he was on one of bama stories rants & he actually said that "the 3 NC that Alabama won were the 3 greatest days of my life". He's now a radio host for the whole SEC, covering all 14 teams. In his radio only days, yes, I agree. Here, he's on national tv 4 hrs a day, 5 + days a wk. A friend actually started counting how many times in his 4 hr show he used the word "Alabama" & got to 33 and stopped counting. That was one day.I've tuned him off since the "happiest days in my life" quote.

Finebaum is a UT grad and he favors Alabama because he feeds the horse he rode in on.

He favors Alabama because he grew up an Alabama fan. He wanted to go to college at Alabama but couldn't for one reason or another. His first gig as a reporter was covering Alabama football.
