Or the other teams inability to capitalize off of 145 yards in penalties. Also, there was still 1:30 left on the clock, who does not believe Auburn goes down the field and scores on the ensuing drive?

Gus prepared them all week for that Golson pick-six-turned-reception obviously

Don't teams practice "tip" drills?

Yes. Doesn't change the fact that Marshall is very lucky that the ball wasn't taken to the house the other way though
Posted on 11/3/14 at 10:29 am to GCTiger11
that wasn't luck. the play was designed that way

Seems like teams would do a better job of batting the ball down based on Auburn's history, no?
It works both ways. If you start to get into the particulars every single play would be considered luck depending upon which team you rooted for.

I hope Auburn wins it's next six games on a slew of one point safeties and fumbles in the endzone after backing its way into the college playoff.
Good teams put themselves in positions to win. Great teams capitalize on those positions.
Suck my golden horseshoe, bitches.

This is a quote from a little bit before Bear Bryant's time. Seneca, a first-century Roman philosopher, is considered the first man to have uttered this statement. And - no - Bear Bryant did not invent the game of football.

Coach Bryant changed with the type players in the 60's he had pro style offense that passed. In the 70's he went to the wishbone and ran the ball .
Comparing Malzone to coach Bryant is ludicrous. Malzone is a one trick pony , Take away his tempo he's ordinary at best. The only reason he goes uptempo is because he doesn't want to match wits with a defensive coordinator but rather a 18-21 year old kid. How imaginative!

Seems kind of funny an API'er quoting CPB.

A lot of "sore box" in this thread...

There's only one coach in the country that you can put in the same paragraph with Bear Bryant and that's Nick Saban. Not some rookie coach at Auburn. Jeessh you guys have more undeserved bravado than any sports team in history.
I tell you what. When Gus Malzahn wins his 4th NC then come back here and make your arguments for who's the second best coach in the history of the game. Just so you know Bear Bryant has more SEC Championships than AU has in their entire history (13 vs 8).

AU's offense was only the second team to score a TD on OM in the first quarter this year and we also posted over 500 yards of total offense against what I would argue is the best D in the SEC and one of the best D's in the country.
The D Auburn played Saturday night was a shell of the D that played Bama a few weeks back. Injuries have taken their toll on that D.

And for the Bama fans who want to say AU is so lucky, that is laughable.
Not sure I know what you mean by this, but I would love to hear it. I assume you will go back to 2011, but that would just make you a moron.

Maybe more of your coaches should try to emulate Bear Bryant and Gus Malzahn so that they will have more successful football programs but oh well, that's none of my business
Gus Malzhan and Bear Bryant in the same sentance does not compute
