A lot of teams in the SEC has both good football and baseball teams. I was wondering after seeing a few posys on here. If your son has an athletic scholarship to play SEC football or go to the draft in baseball....What would you prefer him do?...to make it interesting lets say he's a guaranteed 2nd round pick in the mlb draft.
I may wanted to see the thoughts of some since this seems to be occurring every year now.

Is he a left handed pitcher who is 90-92 with a nice hook?
ETA: Baseball is my vote regardless of the question above

I was thinking that, not sure how the signing bonuses work out in baseball. But on another thread i believe someone said 1st round picks are guaranteed a $1 million bonus...not sure how accurate it is though.

Baseball doles out a lot more jack than football. If you are trying to get a full scholly, it is football. If the kid is 6'6" 325 lbs, then probably football. Otherwise, baseball.

Guaranteed 2nd round pick anyone who doesn't say baseball is a fool and I love football. No guaranteed contracts in football, average career 4 years, injury risk, higher priced contracts and guaranteed in baseball

My decision is based on my apprehension about football. I played. But it's different when you're talking about sending my baby boy out there with a buncha bug-eating swamp monsters.
Seriously though, my oldest is 11 and I'm going to think long and hard about letting him play much further

Assuming he's a top pick in baseball, I'd tell him he'd be crazy not to go play bball but I'd also tell him I'd support whatever decision he made.
That said, I think there's a bit of confusion regarding bball draft salaries. You gotta go high enough for it to really be worth much.

LOL I think most of us all think that way regarding sending our kids out there....unless he's the biggest one like this rugby player. LINK

My 10 year old already has good enough control for a 3 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio and he hits pretty good too. Baseball it is. I don't want him having CTE by the time he's 40.

Please don't keep those stats for a 10 year old.

Baseball. I don't want my son to play football to begin with. I love football, but it's not good for your body.

I choose golf.
I tried to get mine to do that. Little shite has a great swing but the temperament of the Poli Board. He's better now but it's too late.
Baseball won.

Golf takes too much of an attention span for more kids. I didn't start playing until college.
ETA: I'd actually choose baseball, but golf is a close second.
