And Ole Miss' colors are "Harvard Red" and "Yale Blue". Then they turn around and appropriate a slave word for their fake name. The university rioted in '62 and killed a fricking French journalist. The Grove is just a squirrel-infested thicket where rednecks drink to forget in tuxedo t-shirts while eating cold chicken fingers. The most famous person to ever live in Oxford was a drunk who trolled people with his writing style. The Square is okay but it's the only populated place for within a hundred square miles. Can the NCAA just give the whole town and university the death penalty?

The food in the Grove really is absolute shite. I have never understood how they never figured that out.

Harper Lee.

But to the OP's point, from their school colors to their traditions...it screams wanna be. They're trying to associate something they'll never be. I don't know if it's called irony or what.

Oxford, from the Saxon Oxenaforda, or the ford of the oxen. Literally, the place where cows cross.

And they call us Moo St., like it's a negative thing

The place that claims to be great for tailgating, yet doesn't allow grills.

Never understood that

I will say the grove is relatively unimpressive, although I haven't been on a gameday. It is less than half the size of Alabama's quad (22 acres) or Old Main lawn (24 acres).
