ESPN has a good understanding of the American sports scene and what people think is important.
Try to find college baseball information on their site. That should tell you everything one needs to know about the popularity of the sport.
Don't get me wrong. I love college baseball too. It's just not that big of a deal compared to the other sports.

Yep, you have to understand who is answering this question. The SEC is shite basketball conference, but the best baseball conference in America. Obviously votes are going to be swayed this way.

Plus this is an LSU/west centric site. Even in the SEC basketball is more popular. Outside the SEC college baseball pretty much doesn't exist.
