He has one great game and, voila!, already ranked #3 in the so-called, Heisman Race? He's come outta nowhere.

Those aren’t official rankings.

It's been a joke since Charles Woodson won the Heisman over Peyton Manning.

He hasn’t had one great game. He’s been solid all year and was great in Oklahoma’s first big test of the season. He proved himself therefor he is getting recognition. He’s been better than Williams as far as I’m concerned

Who has Bowers performed well against that’s comparable to Texas?

Heisman has been a joke for awhile, but the media is making its steadily worse. Similar polls had Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter tied for near favorites after a week 1 win over what is now seen as a pretty bad TCU team.

Who has Caleb Williams beat thus far? How about Brock Bowers?

Like it or not, “Heisman moment” is a big criterion for some voters, and Gabriel had a pretty huge day and was the reason (amongst others) his team beat formerly top 5 and undefeated rival in a trophy game.

Gabriel definitely deserves to be considered. More than Ewers ever did, anyway

A good game against Auburn > a good game against top 3 Texas apparently

Good grief, it was a great day when Hummer left the AJC, but he's still cropping up like a bad penny.

At least he doesn’t make people wince from how hideous he is like Georgia’s QB

He leads Williams in every statistical category except for TD passes. And he’s done it against better competition.

Micheal Penix has been arguably the best QB in college football for the past 5 years. The only reason he hasn't gotten the Heisman Hype before now is because he was playing for IU and UW.

He should be the far and away frontrunner this year, barring anything hugely unexpected.

The Heisman isn’t the MVP of college football. It’s the player with the most important story of the football season.

It’s a media award. Literally voted on by mostly people in the media. The media tells the stories of the football season.

If you stop looking at it as the best player award, it makes a lot more sense.

OP needs to settle down and realize that every other person in the Heisman race with the exception of Bowers (and Gabriel for that matter) is going to have their moment in a big game down the road during the regular season.

If Caleb Williams goes undefeated and looks like he should against the gauntlet of PAC 12 teams he is going to face, he is going to win it again.

Even playing poorly against Arizona the guy had the most spectucular QB sneak in history for a TD and won the game with his legs in OT.

I mean you're the one getting worked up over one dude who writes on the internet putting out his personal heisman list 2 months before the award..
