Can we give Mizzou back and take OU instead?

In summary, Boren acknowledged that turning down the SEC in 2011 was a massive mistake, and he plainly stated that the Longhorn Network needed to be turned into a Big 12 Network, the Big 12 must expand, and they need a conference championship. He then goes on to state that if these issues are not addressed Oklahoma will shop around.

Calling it now, in 5 years Oklahoma will be in the SEC. Boren basically just said the words "Frick Texas."

Oklahoma will never again be invited.

It'll be two teams out of the ACC next time and they'll jump at the chance.

Hopefully it is NC State and Va Tech. Those two would bolt for the SEC right now if we asked them and they would add more east coast footprint.

UNC is never going to leave the Tobacco Road crowd and neither will Virginia ... they have too much power there to give it up.

You want to bring in a rivalry that has massive potential..

Arkansas vs. Oklahoma.

Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU and Oklahoma rotating between each other, goodness. Pure fun.

Hopefully somewhere else. We've got enough Big12 trash over here already.

"Loser" is a relative term ... it means you're talking strictly about football.

Both programs would add bigger east coast TV revenue footprints and both programs would add to basketball and baseball.

Both programs would also give us two more key demographic traditionally Southern states rather than more of that midwest, southwest bravo sierra Oklahoma would bring.

Quit thinking just about football and start thinking more about footprint and culture and it will make a lot more sense.

NC State and Va Tech are terrible choices.
Outside the county in which each respective school is in, those two schools massively trail UNC and UVa in popularity. Not even close.

Why is this here? I don't browse the SEC Rant looking for big12 slop.

No sane person would knowingly wish for a conference in which they'd be bombarded with the cacophony that is "boomer sooner."

Not going waste a lot of words on something this obvious, hell it's overdone already with NO sound basis. The addition of Oklahoma would far and away overshadow any past or proposed additions. Beyond football which wasn't in my criterian. Now or ever.

Check the ACC for subtraction by addition if you need proof.

I would be down if it somehow put AU and UA in the east. We need to be playing UT, and UF annually.

Which would you rather have in your conference?

1. Cancer

2. Texas

Trick question, because Texas is Cancer.

Completely and totally incorrect.

NC State's following is as large as UNC's, actually larger in football. NC State is in the same RTP as Duke and UNC, moreso than UNC actually.

NC State's presence in the SEC would seriously damage the ACC market in NC, period, that's not even debatable.

Plus NC State would add another state capital ... while not necessarily the flagship university, they are located smack in the middle of the state capital and they have very very solid academics.

Va Tech has a large following around the entire state of Virginia, especially among the population that hates the Virginia snobs. And Va Tech football fans are rabid and travel well.
