Maybe the Omaha World-Herald is known for their shock reporting. I don't know. What evidence do you have that the original report is not to be trusted?

Lee Barfknecht...a sports writer for one of the schools that creates this story.

I don't doubt that those schools might have gauged interest from the B1G. But I believe that was probably the extent of it. By promoting the idea that "a deal was close," I think is misleading, which is terrible journalism.

I don't know. This sounds like more than just gauging interest:

quote:

A Big 12 athletic director, who spoke to The World-Herald on condition of anonymity, said he contacted Big Ten athletic directors and presidents with whom he was familiar in June 2010.

The topic: Was the Big Ten, which had 11 members at the time, interested in adding five Big 12 schools?

The feedback from Big Ten school officials was positive, both sources said. The sticking point was devising a revenue-sharing plan to satisfy all. It would have taken at least three to four years for that many incoming schools to hit the financial payoffs sought for moving.

This really isn't Clay Travis reporting. It's the Omaha-Herald reporting this information with Clay Travis just repeating it.

JMO but it was reported long ago that Missouri and Nebraska quietly agreed they wouldn't take the junior membership route and instead demand full participation immediately. Nebraska flipped (don't blame them) and agreed when the PAC revelations came out.

I find it hard to believe KU and OU were both negotiating with the B10 without KSU and OSU. I'd suspect their inclusion in the negotiations were along the lines of Texas negotiating for TT, CU, OU, OSU and aTm without them being included.

Yea, that's been established many times already. I know you guys don't like Clay Travis and I don't either. I only posted it because it was late and I didn't read the Omaha-Herald article. I didn't want to post something I didn't read, so I just posted the Clay Travis article, thinking everyone was competent enough to know he was just repeating it, and would be competent enough to find the original article.

I don't normally read Clay Travis and I appreciate that he's not wanted around here, but goddamn, you bitches whine like someone took your pacifier away.

Interesting article here

not very..

about all that I find of interests is how far back the "deal making feelers" extended before Colorado left, and that all the talk from the TU/OU/OSU/kU/NU idiots that "Mizzou started this by looking at the B!G", is just so much bullshix.. but we already knew that.

I'd rather read what he has to say than any of you 100% of the time, he's more informed, more intelligent and FAR more entertaining that you tards.

You aren't very bright, are you?

Dec. 2009: Missouri would listen to Big Ten on expansion

June 2010: Four others from Big 12 took a look at Big Ten switch

From @ClayTravisBGID: I think Missouri has been fortunate. They've won games. Congratulations to them. But, I think Arkansas beats them.

And despite that, he still thought Arkansas would kick your arse.

Off season clickbait is all this is.

There was a near fan revolution when the Texas Aggies didn't join the SEC in 2010.

B1G or PAC12 would have been meh. Probably just answered a B1G phone call.

So A&M wanted the Big 10 before the SEC, but Aggie fans claim that they've always belonged in the SEC....

Looking into something =/ wanting it

We were smart to check out our options.

If we wanted to be in the B1G we would be there right now. We were the best piece actually on the board in the last round of realignment. We could have gone to any conference.

Mizzou is only in the SEC because WE forced them to expand and 13 teams is a nightmare for schedules.

You are welcome.

Anybody thinking the SEC was the Texas Aggies second choice should put down their crack pipe.

The Aggies could have gone as a standalone to any conference they wanted to go to.

Missouri you are welcome for the Aggies causing SEC expansion which opened up a spot for you. You have represented yourself well.

Yeah I'm just giving Aggie a little shite because people always accuse Mizzou of wanting the Big 10 over the SEC just because we flirted with them first. Truth is we didn't have a preference...we just wanted out of the Big 12.

the bev12 was basically already falling apart when it was formed, pretty much everyone was already checking their options and Mizzou was still last one to pull the plug and ditch that trainwreck.

listening to the tards from bevo to TnosePickens to the beaktards to the Nubs telling us it's all our fault is beyond surreal at this point, those fukmorons are drowning in denial.

at this point if they wan't to continue the fantasy that "we started it all" I'm really fine with it,, that's right bitches WE DID THAT!!!!

and the beakers claim they almost went to the big 10 in the 90's.. the nonsense from them and the rest of your dwarves continues to be embarrasing(for the butthurt12)

sorry horntard, I know it sucks for you when you leave your LHNfantasyland of revised history but that's the way it goes. now foad you austin****

it is time for the media and the MU admin to stop acting like we Mizzou fans really want to play those disgusting beakers, we don't.
