Other viewpoint from the Auburn fumble

Ball is well out of his hands from this perspective. Of course, Auburn fans post the image from behind the player where there is no conclusive evidence, but this image makes it pretty clear he didn't have possession and the ball wsa coming out. You can see the goal line beneath him and see the ball is already well out of his hands.

Nobody is doubting he fumbled it, but this picture doesn't give any sort of angle that can show when it came out.
The only angle that could is directly down the goal line.

I just don't understand why a down the goal line camera angle isn't required

For a league as flush with cash as ours is, they should have a plethora of cameras for stuff like that.

I thought Fitzgerald was stopped short of the goal line on 4th down right before halftime.
I also thought the AU player had just crossed the goal line...there were two refs at the goal line as he crossed though.
But I'll definitely take the good fortune on Saturday night. Stidham's wide open TD miss on the trick play was massive as well. Many wild, fortunate breaks go in the Bulldogs favor that night.
Was good to be on the receiving end of good fortune as State dropped a TD pass vs UF and UF got their TD on a trick play the previous Saturday night.

Neither of the reviewed goal line plays were going to be overturned. The video on both were inconclusive, and would have been upheld had the calls on the field gone the other way.
I thought he had possession when the ball cross the plane, but the review wasn't really conclusive. Tough break for Auburn on both of them.

I guess it depends on which color lens you look at it through. The referee standing less than 10 feet away with an unobstructed view called it a fumble. And this is the first picture I have seen that wasn't from behind. To me, the ball is well out of his hands and his upper body is crossing the goal line. If this shot had shown both hands on the ball, I would say it wasn't a fumble, but again, the ball is well out at this point.

I don't think you'll get much sympathy from State fans. We have lost more than one game to bullshite calls....a particular game against Auburn involving Chris Relf comes to mind.
I thought the Fitz TD just before the half was a generous call for State, and I think the fumble referenced in this thread is an obvious fumble.
State lost to Alabama last year only after Calvin Ridley was allowed to catch a long pass after having gone out of bounds. Calls almost always go against us.

Why do we not use the simultaneous cameras on reviews more often? Are they not 100% accurate? Seems like we could solve a lot of our problems regarding position of the ball by incorporating this

Did they try a variety of odd or trick plays? Only asking because I saw some Aubs melting saying Gus would do this whirlybird and the blah blah- didn't know if that meant over games or if he went full tard and pulled out a lot during the MSU game?
And on the chance that he did- is there a complilation video of Gus calling shite plays that failed?

Definitely not definitive enough to overturn. I felt he crossed in real time as well. One of those plays where whatever is called would have to stand.
