So, who should I go with?

Don't bet anything you can't afford to lose

Both are excellent teams... first half of the year I would have said Oregon, last part of the year I would have said Auburn

Auburn did a great job of defensive adjustments after halftime in a lot of their games but Oregon did some of that as well (notably how they shut down Stanford in the second half)

Best guess is that Auburn wins but I don't have tons of confidence

No idea.

Auburn has been able to eventually get there yards and score on the entire SEC. No lead has been safe. They have played some very good defenses with multiple different attempts at stopping Newton. Nobody has done it.

Oregon has a good defense. I don't know enough about them to comment other than that the defense stats say they are good but not great. They get QB pressure. This is a good thing but may not help against Auburn.

Here are the things Oregon has going for them that other Auburn opponents haven't had:

1. Oregons defense will not be surprised or impressed by the Malzahn no huddle. Nobody plays faster then Oregon. There defense will not struggle with the no huddle fast break style that Auburn employs. Auburns execution may get them...but the frantic pace won't be an issue. Nobody else in the country can say that.

2. Auburn has not to this date faced an offense as good as Oregons. If the Auburn defense plays against Oregon like they played in the first half of the Bama game...Oregon will score 50 on them in the first half. Oregon will stay on the gas until the end of the game. They play at a fast pace and I am not sure if the barn has the depth to deal with that. Put it this way...if Auburn gets down by 3 TDs in this game there will be no comeback.

It is a very intriguing matchup. My brain says Auburns run defense stalls the Oregon offense...they get a first half lead and win because they just trade scores the whole second half.

But it would not shock me for the Oregon D to get a couple stops in the first half (happened to Auburn multiple times) and the same thing happen the opposite way...Oregon first half lead stays as they trade scores in the second half.

Only thing I am certain of is that their will be ZERO defense played in the 4 th quarter of this game.

Did you have an opinion on the game or were you just challenging my logic?

I would suggest you take the same question to a pac 10 board and compare the answers. You are going to get a biased opinion on the SEC rant, just like you will on the pac 10 board.

Compare the two and the truth may lie in the middle.

I apologize for my first comment, it was very sarcastic.

I hope you enjoy your discounted furniture.

Auburn will put a beat down on Oregon! I dont give a damn about all the statistical BS because I've witnessed Auburn go undefeated in the SEC. O, and they have that guy, whats his name?Cameron Newton, yea, that may help a bit.

Auburn's O-line outweighs, on average, the Oregon d-line by over 60 lbs per man. Cam Newton is larger than all but two of the Oregon defensive starters and is substantially larger than all of their LBs and DBs. He is probably faster than everyone on Oregon's D.

I agree with that statement completely. But...the following are definitely good points as well. Really could go either way.

I hope it ends up discounted.

Going with Auburn. What the hell, was going to spend it anyway.

Me too.

Just to add my serious two cents, I am a big beleiver in strength of schedule and strength of conference. I would wait to see how LSU does tonight. If LSU wins, Auburn gets a tick in its favor.

Also, as you probably know, when in doubt - go with the SEC.

Good Luck.

I absolutely love this question. What is also great is you will be one of the biggest fans of which ever team you choose for those 4 hours. I am too biased to give you a good choice. Also cause I am scared we are going to lose...

I think people on this board are really underestimating Oregon, but we shall see.

Agreed!

You may want to ask if you will have to return the money if Auburn has to vacate title.
