Game was ugly but most teams don’t have a hurdle like that to clear on game 1. If they win out they should be in.

To a lesser extent same thing applies to FSU and LSU. These games are scheduled years in advance and you don’t know how either program will be at the time. If LSU is left out because Tennessee beat them bad fine, but FSU can’t be held against them given the circumstances.

If they go 12-1 they’re in the playoff

So, does that rule then apply to ALL OTHER teams?

Also, if it's not held against Oregon, how does the "W" fair for Georgia?

Don't care. I just want to see the 4 best teams play. We won't know that until after Dec 3.

Any team who still has to play can lose a game. Way too soon.

We can compare other teams' losses with Oregon's to Georgia. And yes they can be penalized for it.

Rule would have applied to UGA if they had lost that game, win all others and Oregon turns out to be as good as they are.

As it is obviously, it’s a fantastic win for UGA, arguably at this moment the best win by anyone at this point. Second best one, or 1a is UGA vs Tennessee. Those two games pretty much give UGA a mulligan from now on and still save them a spot with a blemish. Actually even with 2 L they should be in, as long as they win the SEC. That could change if those teams fade down the stretch, but as of now that how it is.

They got drubbed, they would be destroyed playing an SEC schedule. They will probably get an invite if they win out, but any 2 loss SEC team would be a better team.

1983 Miami lost to Florida, 28-3 before running the table and winning it all. Times are different now but you never know.

You let any team dog you 49-3, and you can't say anything about it.

That said, a 12-1 PAC-12 Champion Oregon makes the CFP.

And they'll get punked once again by UGA.

Tennessee loss to uga definitely gives the ducks life... 12-1 Oregon being a west coast(more eyes for ratings) with a first year coach in game one will get the nod over Tennessee(doesn’t bring any eyeballs uga doesn’t already bring) needed to keep that game close.

How much credit should they get for beating 1-8 Colorado Saturday?

If you believe that I assume you feel Tennessee should also not be penalized for UGA.

Not a lot but they did what they had to.

Beat the shite out of em.

Ohio state isn't doing that to their shitty counterparts in their conference. Why are they getting credit for playing no one?

12-1 Oregon/ UCLA/USC is getting in. Long way to go though

I’m not convinced 12-1 TCU or Clemson can’t get in.

You do realize that UT has played had eyes on them all year right.
Gameday 3 times
UGA vs UT- 13.06 million viewers
Bama vs UT- 11.56 million viewers
LSU vs UT- 2.96 million viewers
UT vs Pitt- 4.46 million viewers
UT vs Florida - 5.57 million viewers
The games mentioned above was top 1 or 2 for that week for games watched. UT has also sold out all but 1 home game. Sold out UTM game. How did Oregon do when they travels across the country to play UGA? Oregon didn’t even sell half there allotment of tickets.
Like it or not, admit it or not. UT has been one of the most watched game all year long. No other team has been part of Gameday 3 times. UT fan base travels as well as anyone.
