Oregon doesn't like pro style. Not hip enough for Nike.

They should just promote a position coach to the head job, it's all the rage.

Especially when that position coach stumps Arkansas by 4 TDs in their house on Senior night. Hmmmm

Wouldn't the biggest, cheeseball gimmick coach fit in perfectly at the original gimmick U?

But Helfrich's firing is likely to usher in a new era, with the Ducks expected to find their next coach from outside their current ranks.

UO representatives reportedly met with Tom Herman last week before he left Houston for Texas on Saturday. Another report from Texas said UO is "kicking the tires" on Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, the former Oakland Raiders, Tennessee and USC coach. A 247 Sports report also indicated that TCU's Gary Patterson was not receptive to UO overtures.

Is there any chance Chip comes back?

Very slim chance at this point. On the 24/7 board an insider believed by some to be former Oregon QB Kellen Clemens posted that the coach is already chosen - and that it would make fans "very, very happy."

So it's either Chip Kelly, Urban Meyer, or Saban.

Florida fans had the same fake garbage after Spurrier left, after Meyer left, after Muschamp left and so on.

The beaver already shot down those rumors calling them hot air. Not that you can ever trust a coach but he's denying it.
