I'm always mystified over Fla.'s poor attendance, especially when you consider their history of having great teams, winning the SEC, the playoffs, Omaha. Yet they draw poorly in comparison to many SEC teams.

MSU's avg is just their games. They had 4.

Don't be. I went Saturday. The atmosphere is just stale like the stadium.

I think we are in a "if you build it, they will come" phase.

We need a new stadium. Sadly, they are just going to try to upgrade the existing one. I am afraid it will just be too little.

We don't have an outfield (no space for it) for the students to come get wild. They have to sit in the stands or the few left field bleachers. It's too sterile if that makes sense.

Oh and the av production sucks. The music sucks. Etc.

I think Auburn listed 6000 on Saturday, but it was a doubleheader.

Yeah, that is both games added together. Auburn's stadium only holds like 4100 people. The new outfield deck only holds 200. But it was full for all four games.

The stadium sucks arse and there's no room to do anything extra around it.

What's up with MSU's left outfield? Looks like a damn shantytown.

Damn. I'm imagining 11,000 Aggies chanting "Ball 5, Ball 5, Ball 5" and getting a boner. Maybe the only time I'm jealous of LSU.

Trouble is there doesn't look to be much room for expansion in the outfield due to train tracks and Rec center. So... 3rd deck? That seems unlikely.

Typical 70s Ag. Wanting to build up when there is plenty of good land.

Only kidding. 11k is too big for us now. We need to get seating up from ~5400 to 6500. We do that by converting a berm to seats (LF) and putting in OF seating. We will still have berm in RF and hopefully more SRO in the OF. So for big series we get 8-9k.

I'm somewhere in that picture! 3rd deck, vs. Texas. t.u. was #6, A&M had a disappointing 5-loss season. Late in the game with A&M up 13-7, it finally dawned on everyone that it was mercy-knee time, and QB Mike Mosley started dancing and hopping and generally just going nuts. As did we all.

No games in Columbia this weekend (even though we were in the mid 70's which is about 30 degrees higher than normal), so there were about 47 fewer folks at Mizzou's stadium this weekend than there will be for their actual home opener in a few weeks.
