Why doesn't the SEC schedule more week one in conference games? I enjoyed Auburn opening with Arkansas in 2014.
I feel like it gives a better week 1 of the season if the games just mean... More.

Probably because most other conferences have week 1 open for non-conference games as well. Trying to find quality non-conference opponents after the first couple of weeks when other conferences have started conference play is difficult. Knowing that the first week or two is the time to schedule the good non-conference games is just easier from a scheduling perspective.

I liked it was well. 2014 was weird scheduling year were everyone had 2 open dates.

They're fun to watch but early conference games, particularly if it's an important matchup suck swamp donkey balls. I'd give anything to push the UF game back.

I miss Georgia vs South Carolina opening up SEC play the 2nd week of the season.

F that... i don't think we've ever won an SEC opener... seems like LSU beat us one time 47-0 on a thursday night with the whole country watching cause it was the only game on and the start of the season. I hate thursday games and 11:00 games. We are cursed in those time slots

It is ok with a weak arse team like Arky, but I wouldn't want to start with Bama, Uga, or LSU.

You could rotate it to where there is one or two conference games each year on the first week.

BECAUSE WE'RE TOO BUSY PLAYING NC STATE!!!
South Carolina is the only SEC school that plays conference games to open the season. Makes you wonder how that is done, seeings how you need a 2nd SEC team to make a game of it, but its the TRUTH!!!
