You can't draw conclusions based on the transitive property alone but you can use it as a piece of the puzzle just like everything else. Especially if the offensive schemes are the same.

No, transitive property is not perfect, but I also drew a theme that Vandy was containing some very good offenses. It was not just "Vandy slowed down one team who is better than MTSU". MTSU's offensive production has come against some very poor teams, and more importantly, very poor defenses. Derek Mason also has a history of controlling high-powered offenses.

Offensively, Vanderbilt has scored more points every week against FBS opposition. Total yardage was down against Ole Miss, but that is to be expected considering their defense. Stats do not tell the full tale though, which is all your model can use.

In 2 of the 3 instances from last week, there were plenty of people who agreed with you about Arky covering. A few thought Vandy's defense could keep it close enough to cover the spread. Good job on the LSU-Syracuse game, but it could have been a lot uglier if not for some penalties that called back scores. I simply say that because your formula is not necessarily magic just because you're right when someone disagrees with you.

For any of you putting money on Arkansas to stay within a touchdown of any other SEC team, I have some land for sale.

Leave this one alone. Big spread to cover with a one dimensional offense.
have you seen how horrible they are against the run though?

Ole Miss, Georgia, and MSU. Parlay those and take it to the bank. Mark this thread, it's money in the bank.
