Is this the same kid where all the houses in his neighborhood had the purple and gold balloons on their mailboxes? I may be misremembering the details, but it was something to that effect.

With 15-year-old Sid kicked back on the couch like he was on the phone with an old buddy, Miles talked to him about football, such as what went wrong for LSU in the Alabama game, and he talked to him about life. "He told him, 'Life is not how long you live, but how well you live it,''' Lynn Ortis said. "He was chatty chatty. And then he asked if he could pray with him, and he did. It was surreal."

Appreciate the read.. can't believe I'm tearing up after an LSU win, but some things supersede the game.

That's why I can deal with the occasional hiccup or quirky coaching decision. And in the end, its why a lot of these kids decide to come play for him. Special, genuine person...

Good lord I'm out at a bar and wanted to check in real quick to enjoy Aubie/Flagship melt. Now I've got a lump in my throat.

So sad, incredibly moving picture, pure class from Leslie - per usual.

The guy has his faults as a head coach, just as every head coach does. He is a quirky guy, but the man is a genuine person and knows that life is more than football.

Miles

I'll honestly miss the days that Miles isn't in the SEC and there aren't a lot of coaches I can say that about.
