First off, this is wrong.
If they are going to count Bama's Southern Conference years, they need to include the championships.
23 SEC championship, plus...
4 Southern championships, equal....
27 total conference championships.

has anyone seriously said this? If so, they are just ignorant, just as you are for for believing them.
Saban can have the same success at nearly any southern FBS BCS school as long as he has been given full control over the football program. I do not know how well he could bring in recruits to large name northern schools, unless it was Ohio State or Mighigan.
