Same. It also depends on the organization.

I would hate to join the raiders.

Yeah, the drawback of being a really high pick. You usually end up on a very crappy team.

Alabama hasn't had a first pick in the NFL draft since 1948. Joe Namath was a first pick in the 1965 AFL draft.

I think Jamarcus would have been serviceable elsewhere.

he was too lazy to make it in the NFL. Even if he had gone somewhere with a coach that stayed on his arse.

Dunno, man. Had he been coached by Parcells, Reid, or Gruden, it could be a verrry different story. Instead he ended up with the most poorly run franchise in pro sports in a terrible city.

How many SEC schools have won an SEC title in the last 100 years? Are any of them located in Arkansas?

Absolutely agree. But Russell was not worthy of the #1 overall pick. No way.

JaMarcus Russell is my favorite college football player ever. He was a first round talent. But he had a lot of question marks that the Raiders chose to ignore. Not a single other NFL team would have taken him #1.

Nothing New.

But they sure got there money's worth out of McFadden. That fricker hasn't been able to crack 3.5 yards per carry since 2011.
