The Auburn Alabama rivalry may be the biggest, but it makes both your fan bases seem like inbred trash. Because this is the version that we get to see in documentaries.

The Auburn Alabama rivalry was much better pre-internet. The face-to-face trash talking with classmates, friends, family is awesome because it's almost always respectful. With the internet it's gotten way over the top and nasty now.

I agree with this. I also think that for some reason there has been more exposure for the lunatics of both sides which has allowed soem fans who based on typical social norms and mores would not act out like they do, but becuase they see the exposure others get the feel it's ok to act like a primma donna

Is a true, bitter rivalry.

I hear what you are saying. Does seem to be a kind of cool thing. Just ain't gonna happen for us. Tulane is long gone (and utterly irrelevant) and Ole Miss is not what it used to be (what little it was). We have no natural enemies and neither Arkansas nor aTm is going to provide us with one.

Just keep hating the entire SEC throughout the season. That is all we can do.

There are good things and bad things with rivalries. Being one of the old codgers around this place, I have always viewed UTk as THE rivalry and it will always be that way for me. To most born after about 1975 Auburn is the rival. Most of the hatred seems to be based in the group who grew up with Auburn becoming more of a player while Alabama spent 20 years trying to find its way out of the fog.

Personally I like the respect base that LSU and Alabama have had for many years. Clean hard fought games that were rarely more than 8 to 10 points apart. As long as both teams can hold close to the top I expect what we have now to continue to build. I do hope we as fans can keep a view like the players have.

That show made me realize that I don't care if we have a real bitter rivalry.

That shite is out of hand.

I have no problem hating every team we play on gameday. Seems like a waste of energy to put that much hate into one team.

Dude,

Take a walk down Bourbon on Jan. 8 and feel the hate; then tell me we don't have a rivalry.

I kinda wish we had a true rival too. Our traditional rivals just aren't fun anymore.

Ole Miss is no good, there's nothing on the line when we play

Tulane...

LSU-Arkansas has potential to be a huge rivalry if the SEC West came down to this game more often.

You must have had a real hard time during the first few years of the twenty-first century.

They are special and very fun but can also get VERY dirty. The A&M/Texas rivalry has been over the top with the SEC move. Way too much pettiness to the detriment of both fan bases.

I've always enjoyed the A&M/Texas rivalry because it's not just a football rivalry. It's all sports, academics, jobs, state pride, self worth, EVERYTHING. It's 24/7 365.

Unless you ask a **** arse sipper who pretends we aren't rivals. That's their schtick

FTR, I'm perfectly fine not playing Texas anymore. It will be missed but hating Texas doesn't define an Ag. We will still be A&M without them and vice versa

For example, there wasn't much hate of Bama in their down years.

There was plenty of Bama hate for the Barn when Tubby holding up those fingers when Bama was down. It's like politics in Washington DC. The party in power is smug and confident. The party out of power is batshit insane.

For some reason LSU fans just refuse to acknoelege its rivalry with Ole Miss.

I guess we just hate them SO much, that we don't even want them as a rival.

Now THAT'S a rivalry!

eh its good and bad. Great when it's all fun and games, but when civility gets left out the door (and i mean from both sides) it's terrible, and sadly this is where the rubber meets the road for more than its fair share of auburn and alabama fans.

I friggin' cannot stand seeing Bama fans acting like obnoxious assholes to opposing fans. That bothers me more than anything the rivals could ever do.

Good natured smack and ribbing is cool, but just drunken assholery makes me wish for laser eyes.

LSU used to have a pretty intense rivalry with Ole Miss and Arkansas has picked up the slack in the last few years. Of course, it's not Alabama/Auburn but what rivalry is?
