That's the point. I can't recall one time a program has gotten four #1 recruits out of OTHER states (mainly 5 stars) especially in the south.

And those kids don't know the history of these schools. They know stuff from 10 years ago. If that. I'd be willing to bet, tradition rich programs sell their history as well as recent success. And again, Auburn had 1 SEC title in the last 20 yrs, I'm sure kids were somewhat aware of that.

Yes,most kids being recruited can only relate to the past decade 00-09. When you look at it through their eyes, this is what you see. Florida, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn in that order with the most SEC wins. So what might be perceived by us 30 somethings is viewed differently by 16-18 year olds. Just some facts, nothing more, nothing less...

Most do now of 5 finger & a thumbs as well. Those kid were during their extremely impressionable stages when that debacle was going down.

then you made the comment about how Auburn is the new up and coming and that yall are the future. That didn't sound too unbiased.

No, that wasn't me. I should have quoted it. I was trying to say that's what Trooper was telling the kids.

Well, it's hard to tell because recruiting hasn't been followed very long.

Actually it has, just because rivals didn't exist before 2002 doesn't mean it wasn't followed.

Did 1983 Miami get kids clean or were they doing then what eventually brought them down?

Didn't they start getting kids from the "bad" neighborhoods that no one else bothered with?

You folks have it all wrong....its the Univ of New Jersey @ Coral Gables....get it right! Schnelly did get the school back on the map...in the early 70s there was talk about disbanding the football program because of $$.
They dont pay kids there...they just dont have the funds. BTW..I remember UF game with the Univ of NJ @ Coral Gables real well...Schnelly had his kicker kick a FG with a minute left in the game to make it 31-3....its ok...we have gotten even with them.

Both of ziemba's parents were auburn grads.

Burns wouldn't make the 2-deep at any position at Ark.

for Auburn fans without being accusatory. In Auburn's 2010 class they got the Number 1 recruits in the state of Arkansas (Michael Dyer), Louisiana (Trovon Reed), Mississippi (Shon Coleman) AND Cam Newton.

Yeah, all of those players were on the offensive side of the ball. Why would they dare wanna play for one of the most explosive offenses in CFB history.

They should've went and played for LSU's offense, right?

And now: The Rest of the Story. Schnelly kicked that last minute field goal because the classless UF fans in the Dump were pelting the Miami sidelines with oranges and it ticked Schnelly off.

This, the first to start the recruiting game, Joe Terranova out of Dearborn, Michigan. I have some of his older recruiting guides. Max Emfinger was more of a local/area guy for years, having lived in La. and Tx. areas. Remember when Curley signed the Fab 5, Max ranked LSU as the #1 class in the nation.

I think you can attribute a lot of that success to Trooper

If that was the case, Baylor, Tulane, New Mexico and Tenn. should of all had top 10 classes.

Trovon Reed was in a tough place in life. Wanted out of LA.

Thibodaux is not a New Orleans. An you are right, some do want out of La.
