Full Moon BBQ re-opens today after being destroyed in the tornadoes of April 27th (over a year ago).

I'm not a huge fan of their bbq. Not bad, but not great. They make great pies though.

It's pretty good to me and I enjoy it better than dreamland. I know they are following with most bbq places nowadays and adding BBQ nachos to their menu.

They were doing a lot of business before the storms and I'm sure they'll do a lot more starting today.

Love that place. Not the one in T-town of course, the one in Gardendale.

I remember eating at dreamland in BR when it opened up a few years back. I enjoyed it alot, but that place sure didn't last long.

Dreamland ruined itself when it started franchising. Half of its charm was the story and quaintness of the original location. That can't be replicated. It also revealed that their decent but not great bbq is propped up by their tradition.

I haven't been to Tuscaloosa in along time, but they used to have several solid bbq places. Archibald's was by far the best of any of them though, IMO.

The only Dreamland you should ever go to is the original one in Tuscaloosa. If you're really craving it, the one in Birmingham is acceptable.

I would agree with that statement.

We just got a new Jim and Nicks BBQ a month or two ago and it's pretty good but Archibald's is definitely still my favorite in town.

Archibald's is the best of the bunch to me as well.

MJ, Jim N Nick's bbq is pure garbage. Worst in the Tuscaloosa-Birmingham are IMO. The cheese biscuits are their only saving grace. When I'm forced to go there I usually just get a burger.

The dreamland in Huntsville sucks arse. Birmingham one is a little better. T-town is def the best even though I'm not a big fan of dreamland. I like them but not a huge fan.

I've only been there two times. The first time was with my wife and I was not impressed. Second time was with the wife and the in-laws. I was reluctant to go but went along with it. It was better than the first time but not much.

Their chow-chow (hot slaw?) is my favorite food on earth. I typically go to the Southside B'ham location.

Glad to see Tuscaloosa being rebuilt.

Is that the place that was on Food Network and Travel Channel a few years ago?

Yeah, just like Hokkaido did on 15th Street. Only place rebuilding in the same spot so far is the Krispy Kreme.
