Billy Caitlin, the President of the Gator Bowl, is responsible for making sure the most amount of fans come to the game AND stay multiple nights. He's on the radio here quite a lot here and has always been honest about his priorities.
As mentioned, UT will bring lots of fans due to their recent struggles over the last 10-11 years or so. It's just good business. As longs as we don't get the bring your own couch and lighter fluid crowd it'll be good for the city.
Let's be clear, UF is rarely desirable for the Gator Bowl. It's too close to G'ville. Of course the UF fans in Jax aren't spending money or hotels and our fans are spoiled so the GAtor Bowl is really meaningless as it is just a reminder of a less than stellar season.
He really wanted ND too. He wants any fan base that travels well and has to spend the night.
I welcome my hillfolk cousins to town.
I work in the dental insurance industry and have boxes upon boxes of toothbrushes. I'd be glad to set up a table and distribute them to any of you needy UT fellers.

UT hasn't been selling out the home stadium for years. Lived in TN for 20 years. Most overrated fan base in the game.

Very interesting and well played by Hart if this was the case. I'm pretty happy with this bowl, beats the hell out of playing in Birmingham or Memphis, although Memphis would've been good for recruiting.
