60 years ago today, the Ole Miss Rebels and the Alabama Crimson Tide played in a rare SEC vs. SEC bowl match-up in Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, LA. Ole Miss, SEC champions and heavily favored, had all of the momentum coming into the game.

Bear Bryant famously remarked in a press conference in the weeks leading up to the game that Alabama has as much of a chance to beat Ole Miss as it does to snow in New Orleans. Welp...on News Years Day 1964, a freak snow storm rolled in and dumped four and a half inches of snow on the ground.

Alabama won the game by a score of 12-7.

It also snowed at the Sugar Bowl in either 1965 or 1968 when LSU beat Syracuse and Wyoming, respectively. It also snowed when LSU beat Illinois in the Sugar Bowl in 2001 but game was in the Dome.
