Plus if there was video replay back then, I think the rb ( Guman ?) scored .

The Tigers, who incidentally had also lost earlier in the year to Alabama scored a TD with 3:40 left to defeat Nebraska 35-31.

see, even back then, Mizzou was helping the SEC..

that was back when the Nubs got their primary players as transfers from Pen St,, (ie the state pen) and needed them all to get a win.

a roudy bunch of drunk Mizzou fans went to Faurot field, tore down the goal posts, (with at least one fan visiting the hospital after losing a quart or two of blood from the post coming down on him) and dragged it up to Harpos.

thanks for bringing back this nice memory!

great thread

I wonder how many of these memorable plays and games of yester-lore would have turned out completely different had the absurd amount of replays we have now been implemented back then. College FB would look completely different imo as far as the wiki of champions landscape.

Also little things that happened then would kill a program now, i.e the 1954 Cotton Bowl tackle. Could you imagine if someone tried to pull that shite today

And for what its worth it was on this same day in '78 where the expression "Don't Drink the Kool-Aid" was sadly born.

Earlier that same day Jim Jones commanded his people in Jonestown,Guyana drank the cyanide laced drink.

It's warped but I tie Missouri win and Jim Jones together in my memory bank.
