I suspect 20+ schollies lost over 3 year period and a possible additional year of bowl ban.

I don't think Ole Miss fans care.
As long as they can play pretend country club rich, wear polos, delude themselves into thinking that a well manicured campus with brick buildings is exclusive to Ole Miss, eat cold chicken fingers on their grandmas china, rent chandeliers for their tents, think that an obnoxiously thick southern accent shows a sign of old southern wealth, that even though their school is ranked at or near the bottom of the SEC academically that they are somehow a small private Southern Ivy, or even though their wealth is a fraction of most SEC schools that they are somehow the wealthiest alumni base in the South...
As long as they have that, I think they'll be fine.

It doesn't surprise me one bit they think they can get out of the NCAA trouble.
Because it already takes a lot of delusion to be an OM fan
Delusion. Lots of delusion.

They'll be fine. NCAA will accept self imposed bowl ban and be done with it. Freeze is gone, after all. And that's all the NCAA really wanted. Will go 8-4, maybe 7-5 this year and 15-0 or 14-1 next year, making it to Atlanta and then winning the playoff.

When you dream, dream big!!!

Well there reaches a point where even your dreams may be dilusional. Ole miss isn't going to get off with their self imposed penalties no way in hell. As far as yalls record on the field...that's not happening either. Sorry.

I don't think there's even a number you can give out. For anyone not thinking like myself and a few others, we are about to be made out as an example. Reason be, not just for all the dumb things we did, but they know and the rest of the country knows that they have been made a joke of by handling some other schools. So now they are going to go all Chuck Norris on us to prove a point.
And lawyer school or not, apparently they aren't teaching them right or we sought help from some court appointed attorney. I have no problem saying this will hurt us for at least 5-10 years. By then we might make it back to going 7-5 or 8-4 if we're lucky. It's not like they are costing us a championship, cause get real. Even before this we weren't going to win one. I'm a diehard Ole Miss fan, even when we go 0-12. But it's time to face the facts that we're going down like the titanic. I promise you, you will have alot more fun if some of you can remove the glasses and laugh along now. That's all we can do and then wait for softball. Because by damn we're a softball school now. Sarcasm.
But anyway, we're going to get hit hard. Probably harder than the hookers were hit. But it won't change myself from being a fan of the team. I just choose not to care for the Athletic department and wish they would all leave. Which I'm sure is going to happen soon.

24 scholarships over 3 years. 2 year bowl ban. 5 years probation. multiple show causes.

All that said, this is the SEC so most places that would be a 9 out of 10, but in SEC that's like an 8.

NCAA is trying to regain their power. I'm almost concerned how hard they are gonna come down on you guys, but you guys are deserving and fought it hard and dirty instead of owning up to the rules you broke and continued to play really dirty. I'm fine with bringing the hammer on you guys but i will have high expectations on them treating everyone the same and trying to clean up some of the money/hookers manipulation that schools do. It's bad for the country. Bad Parenting. Poor morales. We can do better.

In reality I could honestly see that. But a part of me is thinking it's going to be more than that. Just have a feeling that they want to make an example out of us because of the way they botched other investigations.

The unfortunate situation is that Ole Miss is going to have to be punished in a manner that will get the attention of Bama, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, USCw and programs like that. Sanctions that may seem harsh for OM may not be a deterrent for a really big program. That's just life and death in the jungle

I agree with everything you just said. The behind closed doors part of the NCAA or should just say college football has gotten way out of hand. And I honestly can't tell you how we could stop it. If everyone thinks they don't have some shady stuff going on at their school, then they obviously don't know much about the game. And in no way making that sound like "well they all do it too". We just done it to much, to quick, and also add the arrogance they seemed to have and not care about the true fans and some of the players and their families.

You're right. And as you can tell by some of the downvotes I'm getting is either some who is still drinking the koolaid or just random people doing it cause they think it's cool. I'm not in anyway bad mouthing our school. Just stating things that could possibly happen.

Upvotes and downvotes in this place are a strange drama. No rhyme or reason to them.

Some a-hole was downvoting posts in the thread linking a fundraiser to benefit a former OM basketball player who has cancer.

Yea I guess it makes them feel like they're cool to do it. But to downvote what you are referring to just shows you that some people don't have a heart. And I can bet they were all followers and not leaders earlier their life.

This is what I'm thinking as well. Lose 8 scholly's a year for 3 yrs means your max to pull is 17/yr, that's brutal IMO. They better be spot on with the guys the sign and suffer no attrition from those 3 classes if they want any chance to compete.

I'll be honest, I would've liked to see Hugh Freeze retained so that we could see his reactions in 2020/2021 when he had zero depth and a shallow talent pool to work with.
