Has the board of directors had anything to say about the mess that is OM?

Too busy draining the hooker fund while it's still open.

They've allowed it to go on and haven't cleaned house. That tells me they approve of it.

No such thing. We have an IHL Board that is over all 8 state 4 year schools. I am sure the board members have discussed among themselves and the Commissioner but I have seen nothing made public. These things are handled internally until the IHL Board needs to step in.

Yep, rest of the SEC, you read right. Mississippi has one board for every university. Jackson State folks have as much voice as Ole Miss and State.

When you wonder why Mississippi sucks so badly, it doesn't take long when you look at the corruption that goes on in Mississippi politics.

We might suck in certain areas but the make up of the IHL Board has little to with it. Can you imagine the free for all that would occur if each of the 8 universities were fighting for their own money during the legislative session? They all do some of their own lobbying for special projects but the overall budget is managed by IHL (following Ayers' mandates of course). Not sure why you hate this state so much and sorry you had to be here for how ever long you were here.

Still can't believe they didn't renew dan jones contract as our chancellor. Think he would have handled all this stuff much better than vitters has. He cared about athletics but don't think he would have let boosters or alumni impact what decisions he would make.

I love this state. There's a lot of things that Mississippi gets a bad rep for that she doesn't deserve, but the corruption has got to be taken care of - its the major problem. Want some light reading, check out the lawsuit that has been filed against the former mayor of Jackson, who wrote a book on biblical manhood and is the pastor of a large church. The lawsuit reads like an adult movie.

And the IHL board is as corrupt as the day is long.

Dan did Dan in. Plus, this whole thing started while Dan was there. Vitter walking into it certainly was a disadvantage, though.

How so? You just had to figure their time line into your project time line but if your plan made any sense, they approved it.

We're going to disagree on the Dan Jones fiasco, so no need to discuss that.

First thing you need to look at is how one gets onto the IHL board. It takes checks with a lot of zeroes written to the right politician. God help us if the Democrats in this state ever get back in charge for any length of time.

I doubt anyone ever wonders.
And that's not intended as an insult.
The reasons are too vast to list.

Yeah, you probably don't want to go into that one. .

And pray tell why anyone would write a check with lots zeros to be named to a 12 year IHL board position that is all but a thankless job?

Well that's just ridiculous. No wonder you are last in all education categories.
