3 backs had 20+ yard carries Our o-line has finally started playing up to preseason expectation.

Bo Wallace is still a gunslinger no matter how much Freeze has tried to curb it. In crunch time his true nature came out.

He's given the Rebels two great games against LSU. It was his mentality that almost made 2012 an upset. It cost you last night, maybe.

Freeze in his post game said LSU is the best offensive line they've seen all season. Granted, the only other good/elite opponent they've played is Bama, but it's still nice to hear, especially given all the expectations for the LSU line coming into the season

He didn't let the crowd get to him in 2012. His worst three games of his career are all on the road when the opponents crowd got to him

Hard to disagree with that. We were able to get penetration and beat Alabama off the ball when we played them. Your offensive line is just as big and physical as Bama's but they are more athletic and quicker off the ball.

Triple whammy. Fournette makes a great run down to the OM 4, but inadvertent whistle nullifies the play. Two plays later, obvious pass interference wasn't called. Player was grabbed well before the ball got there, no call. Then the missed chip shot FG.

I had to listen to the beginning of the game on the radio, and that early in the evening in North MS, I was forced to listen to the OM broadcast (which sucks giant balls, by the way). Even that bunch of raging homers agreed that the Rebels got away with both calls. The sideline guy definitely thought it was interference.

It just took them a long time to adjust to Grimes and his zone blocking scheme. Their early struggles certainly had all of us shaking our heads, but they finally started clicking at UF, and have gotten exponentially better the last two weeks.

We turned it over four times, including a fumble at the 1, missed a chip shot FG from a guy who never misses, and dropped three interceptions.

Lots of self-inflicted wounds kept this game close when LSU should have won by 10.

I put it all on Bo. Freeze called a great drive to get us into position to kick a field goal. That last play with the interception was ALL on Wallace. He was supposed to roll out and if there was something open on the sideline he was supposed to hit that receiver and they would step out of bounds for an easier field goal attempt.
Disagree with this. It's all on Freeze, he's the head coach. Down 3, 9 seconds left and no timeouts, and you have just moved to where you have a 42 yd FG to tie and send it to OT. There should be no hesitation or doubt, you have the FG team ready to go. Freeze butchered that and got a delay of game.

People blame Wallace, but he is was he is, and Freeze messed up more by putting him back out there for the last play. So he was supposed to... what? Get back the 5 yds Freeze just gave away? The kid had been shaky all game, but was able to get them in FG position when it mattered, and then he was thrown back out there when his head coach screwed up. He is cocky (not necessarily a bad thing for a QB) and took a shot.

And then, Freeze may have made a huge mistake by calling out Wallace in the post-game, saying Wallace made a mistake. Remember, Ole Miss has Auburn next week... and you just threw the starting QB under the bus for doing something, on a play that was entirely your fault to begin with. I don't think the players will take that very well.

Watching a game that I was impartial as to who won....LSUs OL definitely helped win the game because the passing offense is missing in action so far.

Ole Miss doesn't have the power run game to win hardware imo...but a very good team and having Tunsil out for a period hurt them. Very good passing attack but when you are facing 3rd and longs it is difficult. LSU played smart on defense and it was a low scoring game as the final indicates....pads a popping SEC old school style...love it.

What really impressed me were two things: the defense bowed up even in the face of their offense playing like United Way and giving Ole Miss the ball. Secondly, the punting game saved LSUs bacon because you guys were constantly backed up on the start of almost every possession and the punt returner needs to know when NOT to fair catch and when to stay the hell the way away from the ball instead of fielding it DEEP by the goal line. The punter kept booming kicks to flip the field...he may have had one bad punt but without him you lose the game...seriously.

Watch the Miss State game with UK and MSU has grown azz men on both lines...UK had to resort to everything and the kitchen sink to keep from being blown away. Kudos to Stoops..he just needs some more grown men on the OL & DL....but he may not last there long when the big offers start coming in. Hard to compete with roundball there.

You've gotten a solid recap from the other posters, but two things:

1. You know those 250-lb middle linebacker monsters that Alabama always seems to have a stockpile of? We may have one.

2. If you see anyone from the Ole Miss athletic department, tell them to send $44.95 by check or money order ASAP to LSU for a new face mask for Leonard Fournette.

Gratitude

What was with the lack of points?

LSU got into Bad Bo's head... He did not play well but LSU's Defense has drastically improved since the Auburn game. LSU help OM to less yards than they did the Gators...

Time and time again LSU handed Ole Miss the game but luckily Bad Bo showed up last night in the nick of time.

This is pretty much it. Only thing to add is that when they absolutely had to get a stop, the LSU defense came through. And the running offense of LSU was incredible. Passing offense continues to be our achilles heal.
