Special teams is often just as important as offense and defense when it comes to a team’s success, and the Ole Miss Rebels just took a big hit on special teams. As the team prepares for its Week 1 matchup against South Alabama on Saturday, it’ll do so without a key player. On Friday morning, just one day before game day, junior long snapper Chadwick Lamar announced he was leaving the team:

Amazing what happens when the money stops coming

Pretty much exactly what the thread title says. Guy tweeted

Proud to have been a part of something so special in OMFB, but I am stepping away from football. Great things to come for Rebs

Story says he wants to focus on law school.

Can we call him Hedley Lamar instead?

The timing is pretty interesting, does he save eligibility by quitting before the first game?

Ole Miss folks did he have a history of injuries or anything?

Seems like there was no better way to learn about criminal justice if he just stayed on the team.....

Kamden darney and Chadwick Lamar. Two of the most Ole Miss names ever the smart rats are always the first to leave.

Makes sense. He's needed for as part of their legal team than a long snapper. Their current legal team is bending over while the Ncaa continues to go in dry.
