I think the beef comes from wright Thompson writing some articles that were critical of ole miss as an institution. Mostly related to racial issues.

Could be a similar move tho picking somebody from entertainment they want to pimp to the football crowd. The problem with KC is they have now shown the intent to go down that road. Hard to put the genie back in the bottle with the corporate crowd.
I was thinking about the folks they used in the SEC Storied and MJH for Alabama seemed to fit the new way of plugging someone over actually picking someone who is SEC to the core.
