Freeze Extended

So, what does this mean? I guess with a Show Cause on Freeze, the contract is voided so it doesn't matter if it's extended or not. If you knew he was getting a Show Cause, why extend? If you knew he was not getting a Show Cause, why extend? If you didn't know one way or the other, why extend?

Until this is resolved, why extend?

Curious to see how Kennedy does. Lot's of expectations next year. If he doesn't dance, then does he get the boot with 2 years remaining on the buyout?

Offseason thread....

Reward the coach who's about to put your program in the shitter for a decade, don't extend the coach that's made chicken salad out of chicken shite. Makes sense.

It is meaningless. Helps recruiting to show "support". But ultimately the University can fire him for cause when the sanctions come down. Extension or not.

To me, it is actually a bad sign for Freeze. You could interpret it as saying that Bjork already knows Freeze is getting a Show Cause. Which lets them terminate his contract with no buyout. So, instead of showing their hand, they just extend a meaningless contract. Doesn't cost them a dime.

If the program was going to get hammered but it looked like Freeze was going to avoid the Show Cause. But you would have a crippled program and a lame duck coach on your hands, then the last thing you'd want to do is extend his contract.

Why in the actual frick would Ole Miss even entertain the idea of firing Andy Kennedy?

Even if he doesn't have a show cause, he can be fired for cause just for having penalties

I agree. Who are they gonna get? The only coach we had a chance at who would be an upgrade was Michael White. Now that that ship has sailed, Kennedy is as good as we can do.

I don't think they're serious about making this his last year. I just think they're turning the screws a little bit.

That's exactly what it is. I imagine they're getting hammered in recruiting by other schools so this is something they can point to and act like everything's fine.

Because a show cause clause is certainly included, which makes letting him go easy.

Second, with an inclination of the harsh terms ahead, CHF is (admittedly already a good one) is the best coach available. Proven HC who can get more out of less.

The dude cheated and got more instead of less. Look at last year, how fast they imploded. It started at the draft with a moronic player. And now they're still being shady as shite.

Sort of like dropping a Cheerio out of a C-130 over East Africa helps world hunger.

The only thing worse than "Lack of institutional control" is deliberate institutional malfeasance.

It's the sort of thing that would piss me off if I were the NCAA (and often does piss them off). OM just can't help but play with fire it seems.

This is what happens when a clique of lawyers run your progam.
