Maybe you shouldn't go to a community college then.

I was watching the Ole Miss/Alabama replay on SEC Network the other day and couldn't help but notice a lot of Ole Miss fans(students) in the stands wearing a suit and tie.

Why?

Is a normal polo & dress shorts not good enough for them?

The tradition was started to honor the fallen soldiers of the confederate regiment from Ole Miss, the University Greys. The way I understood it is that the University Greys from Ole Miss was considered one of the best dressed regiments in the Confederate army. So every time our Rebels "Go to Battle" we dress for the occasion.

Also it's a thing that pledges are forced to do. But before that became the "official" reason, people dressed up for the reason I posted.

I can't wait til Greek life ends. There is so much more to college than some social club.

Regardless if you're in a frat or not, you're going to be in a social circle.

This is fricking gay too.

It's a good way to ID the pledges and make them sweat their asses off a few games a year. Plus you have to bring a date or you are F-ED.

To the OP, sorry you got cut. The scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas where he's tooting something off his shirt sleave and the guy walks in on him in the bathroom and HST says something along the lines of "the poor bastard, I was busy doing things these people could never even dream of knowing about".

Yeah you celebrate being "the best dressed" most overrated weak arse party in the south.

Don't even get me start on the GD grove. I was getting down harder in the 8th grade at the roller rink.

Yeah getting lifetime connections to land some pretty sweet job opportunities is really pathetic because they have to dress up in a suit to go to a football game

I wasn't in a frat but I understand why these guys do it. Yeah it's for the parties and sorority girls but the connections you can get from being in a frat are nuts.
