It came from the players. They come out of the tunnel locking arms and swaying. They started that in 2008. The university has been trying to get the fans to do it since 2011.

Some of the best pre game speeches I've seen at Ole Miss. Can't remember the last coach that we had that did this.

And i will say TRY. The fans dont seems to respond real well to it.

I mean, I get what they are trying to do, but I'm one of those that probably wouldn't do it. Not because I don't care about school spirit. But I don't know how I feel about locking arms with a total stranger next to me. That's just me though.

It always looks good on TV, but they are obviously zoomed in to only a small segment of the crowd. But nonetheless, it still looks legit when watching from home.

Florida fans lock arms and sway back and forth at the start of the 4th quarter when they sing "We are the boys from Old Florida" to remind them about when they were an all male school.

The old days of sitting in the student section with friends are over. Now if I go, it is usually with just one old college buddy. That means there is a stranger on the other arm.
