My inlaws are from MS and they were raised poor/lower middle class and always hated/still hate the snobby Old Mrs attitude. They are huge State Fans even though neither went to school there. I think they pull for them just to spite Old Mrs. Many wanna be semi-well-off - middle class private school families in North LA send thier offspring to Old Mrs specificaly because of that attitude, they strive to be a part of it so they can look down on others in North LA. Biff and Bambi eventually come back to north LA to take over the family car wash or oil change shop (not that there is anything wrong with those establishments).

Do poors really go to school or even support the instate schools? I would have guessed Mississippi poors would be either LSU or Bama fans.

A good indicator of the money the school has is the University's endowment. Usually, the larger the endowment, the better the academics and overall the Alumni will have better paying jobs.

Ole Miss only has $470MM.

Big boys in the SEC are:
A&M system $7 Billion
Vanderbilt $3.375 Billion
Florida $1.3 Billion
Missouri $1 Billion
Arkansas $1 Billion

Because only poor people in MS are poor. Most Mississippians are hard working middle class folks. I guarantee there are four times the amount of poor people in TX than MS has. Our population is just so tiny that statistics really stick out.

Why does Ole Miss have the perception of a wealthy school when the state as a whole is poor?

We're also one of the smallest schools, tard.

The perception that Ole Miss has terrible academics is a joke. Yes getting in is ridiculously easy but a shite ton of freshmen and sophomores flunk out.

UGA's endowment is about 570 million. You're telling me Arky has better academics and it's alumni get better jobs because of that?

Population and size are a factor dipshit.
And this is the most pointless fricking thread I have ever read on here FWIW.

If this is true, they may want to start spending more on athletics if they want to compete with the Bamas, LSUs, Floridas and Georgias of the world.
