I assumed you guys would enjoy the attention. It's not like anyone other than State has ever paid Ole Piss any attention before this clusterfrick.

If an assistant AD paying players on set amounts isn't lack of institutional control then what is?

Actually if it's the AD and not a coach OM can separate football from the problem a little bit. That's a great reason for a really long probation for the whoke department (God help the crew team if they get a violation) and a 2nd future football violation would result in epic penalties, but making it more of an admin problem than a football problem may actually save FB from specific severe penalties.

Freeze and his staff can all survive and plead ignorance. The evidence is of aTunsil going right to the mo why people, the ones who would handle emergency problems w the SEC/NCAA. So you can argue Tunsil didn't do anything wrong, Freeze and the coaches did nothing wrong, and rogue AD peeps operated a slush fund and didn't handle things per NCAA/SEC guidelines. They won't reveal the source of the funds, and the school will be able to prove it isn't their money.

Yes but if it's the AD department doing the transactions that's beyond LOIC. That would be blatant cheating starting at the top. The coaching staff would be very hard pressed to convince the NCAA that they had no idea it was going on.

There is no way around it. Either OM is royally screwed and gets an extremely harsh punishment or the NCAA is in no way a factor for any college concerning recruiting. It will be an absolute public all out bidding war for recruits.

Remember when the sidelines cleared in Oxford late in the third after that INT ? After 13 consecutive quarters of getting prison raped we had the entire LSU football team's attention.

How is the situation not considered worse than what was going on at USC? Not only did Tunsil receive lavish gifts from agents, but on top of that, you have Ole Miss(as opposed to rogue agents) directly paying players on a regular basis.

Not here to bash, I'm just curious.

Agreed.
The NCAA is between a rock and a hard place here. If nothing comes of this everyone in the damn country will be screaming "to hell with the NCAA. Lets do away with them."

The incident was far too public for nothing to come of it. Ole Miss is going to be punished. And punished hard.

This has been my opinion from the beginning. When the potential #1 NFL draftee, on or about the 1st day of the draft, comes on tv affirming that he took money from a school offical...after being shown smoking dope from a gas mask on social media! The NCAA has no where else to go but to bring the hammer down. Throw in the weird happenings surrounding the Nigerian brothers leading up to all this and you've got a made-for-television mini series.

Lovely dress you are wearing Mrs. Cleaver. I understand the saber-toothed youngster has been misbehaving a bit.

It's kinda crazy how little fricks I give about this. There are only two scenarios.

1. We get penalized. So what we were 2-10 before Freeze showed up and we just brought in the best recruiting class in ole miss history.

2. We don't get penalized. Lol ole miss is gonna become the powerhouse of the west.

Lolol's all around.

I'm confused. What "lavish gifts" did he receive from agents?

And which players were getting paid? All I have seen is evidence that one player asked for $305 once and was told where he could get it from.

You really believe that if nothing happens to OM that they will then be able to compete with the big market schools for recruits when it's going to basically be an open house public bidding on them? Please, OM will be lucky to afford the 3* leftovers unless they dump all their money into one 5* and I'm sorry but there is still no way a team can be competitive against a team of 4 and 5* players with a single 5* and low end 3* players. You guys will get slammed year after year by programs with way more money like Bama, LSU, AtM, Florida, Georgia, and others. Hell for that matter, I think Vandy (if their alumni wanted to) could probably outbid all of the SEC. Wouldn't that be funny if Vandy became the football powerhouse.

You are either ignorant, really stupid, or both if you believe for a second that ole miss is going to ever overtake lsu, bama, or auburn without seriously cheating and getting slammed sooner or later. It won't happen. Ole miss is simply outmatched by true powerhouse football programs that have been winning at a higher level for a while now. Ole miss doesn't have the appeal that these schools have and never will, period. Throw in facilities, coaches, fan bases, athletic budgets etc...Yall will not sustain success in the sec west without getting the death penalty. Deal with it.

the use of three separate loaner vehicles over a sixth-month period without payment, a four-month interest-free promissory note on a $3,000 down payment for purchasing a used vehicle, two nights of lodging at a local home, an airline ticket.

Not lavish to some, but for a broke kid in college or an Ole Miss fan, I'd call it just that.

It's the fact that you have a national audience seeing text messages from someone within the AD telling Tunsil "I thought we had an agreement on the amounts. Talk to Barney."

That is not going to fly over well with the huge college football fan bases around the nation. Especially those with recent probations. The Ncaa knows this believe me.

See here it is again. Another OM fan who started out saying "we aren't cheating, we got them recruits because Oxford is so great and Freeze is a good Christian man" now saying "we just cheated like everyone else".

Before it's over, they will be saying that they have been buying players off the black market and forcing them to play by holding their families hostage because that's what all other colleges do and Freeze is really an extension of Satan like every other coach is.

OLe Miss, where the next spin gets more and more bat shite crazy every time.
