I'm comparing universities more so than states. We're just cooler than you. Go to any school and ask students where would you would rather spend a semester at - Ole Miss or Missouri? The answer would be unanimous

The whole state of Mississippi and its two Jr colleges that somehow found themselves by the grace of God in the SEC are a burden to the the rest of the members. Academically, athletically, and generated revenue. Huge drain. Don't even come close to pulling their own weight.
