A&M at home is a toss up IMO

Texas A&M won 11 games, only losing 2 by a total of 8 points, and was playing very well by the end of the season, beating National Champion Alabama and trouncing Oklahoma. They also have an open date before playing OM in 2013.

I think A&M would have to be a good bit worse this season for that game to be a tossup. Didn't I read that at least one source had them a darkhorse or a favorite for the 2013 NC?

I see 7 or 8 wins for OM in the regular season, depending on the strength of Auburn and Arkansas. Both could/should be a lot better than in 2012. OM only beat Arkansas by 3 last year and they play at Auburn this year, which is always tough. It may be a mistake to pencil these in as automatic wins.

Similarly, State could/should also be a better team than we were in 2012 (with fewer wins due to a much tougher schedule), and winning in Starkville will be much more difficult for OM than it was in Oxford last November. I think State will win the 2013 Egg Bowl, due to being at home and the revenge factor.

Obviously Ole Miss COULD win more than 7 or 8, I just think that is what they will do. Then they will win their bowl game and finish with 8 or 9 wins. As far as the OP, I'll say 8 in the regular season and a push.

You don't think I know all of that?

JFF didn't have a TO until he faced us and we turned him over 4 times. We were two bone headed decisions from winning(I hate moral victories too god dammit). It'll be a game again. If it's not feel free to bump this thread

They almost did this past year.

Vs Texas L 66-31
Vs A&M L 30-27

Watching the game they had a chance to pull it out but couldn't finish. So yes they will beat A&M before they will texas.

Why do people insist on employing transitive property in this context?

A&M destroyed both AU and Arky, yet LSU, a team that defeated A&M, scraped by both.

OU stuck it in Texas to the tune of 63-21. A&M clobbered OU 41-13. Does this not sink the negative implication of your theory?

A&M turned the ball over 6 times against OM yet still won. We're not turning it over 7 times next year.

As I've stated before, it's entirely plausible that Auburn and Arkansas have benefited from a down Ole Miss and Mississippi State this decade.

Ole Miss been down since integration and State has never been good... where do you come up with these statements?

If you said the last 40 years, not decade, I guess you'd be right.

Under I guess. 7 wins is a lot more likely than 9

7-8 wins seems reasonable

This was a very winnable game. The call/no call on PI was one of the worst calls I have ever seen. Vandy got screwed here and had a legit shot at winning.

This is why I'm hesitant to get my hopes up about beating Vandy. It's not Vandy per se, but rather the fact that it's the first game of the season and it's on the road in Nashville.

The reason that game against SC was close wasn't because of some sort of equal talent level or coaching (SC has the advantage in both), but rather because of how early the game was played.

Smoke and mirrors? More like good coaching, motivation, and game preparation.... Oh,and recruiting. Can't forget good recruiting.

Every coach at every rinky-dink school seems to excel at these things in their first year. Always. Odd, don't you think?

Ah, yes, congrats on that mighty impressive Egg Bowl win. There's always legit bragging rights on the line when those two bastions of gridiron superiority from north Mississippi go head to head in November. I would have rushed the field, too!
