SEC has had a down year. Also the only reason Auburn would be praised is because they are at a disadvantage.

They aren't the best SEC team, yet they are facing the best B12 team.

All without a healthy starting QB.

Could you imagine OU playing Auburn without Mayfield?

This is why OU has fallen. Normally this should have been a good win, but nothing to gloat so much about. You've forgotten your goal is to be champions of the entire league, not the sugar bowl or life or whatever.

Stoops is 60-30 v. top 25 teams. That's a 67% winning percentage in "big games".

Does anyone outside of Saban even have a winning record against top 25 in the SEC?

The "rest" of the SEC isn't even close. That's the bottom line.

If LSU and UF hadn't won their respective BCS title games against OU, this conversation isn't even happening. To their credit however they did.

Many SEC fans I've met are dismissive of OU based on these two games which is a little unfair. OU plays LSU in Nola and loses by 7 after dropping not one but two passes which would have tied the game. Not to mention an LSU fumble in 4th quarter that should have given OU possession. I give LSU credit they won the 2003 title, but this game was much closer than any LSU fan i've ever met would admit.

The Florida game in Miami was close too. DeMarco Murray was injured and didn't play. OU failed to score inside the 5 twice where Murray likely would have gotten the carry.
I mention this only to show how a few plays made the difference. Again I give UF credit they won the game.

Those two games loom very large in the S-E-C argument. Outside of Alabama it's all smoke and mirrors imo.

By the way, that chick put her hands on Mixon twice. The first time he ignored the shove, and the second time she actually punched him.

Would you beat your toddler to a pulp for smacking you in the face? Based on Mixon's size and strength, that's an apples-to-apples comparison.

His toddler isn't an adult that knows not to smack another adult in the face.

Based on cognitive ability, it is not.

The game was played January 1st, 2015. Two years and three days.

I'll give you the three days. Seems like you need them.

Wrong again.

The game was played January 2014 LINK.

You guys are so absorbed with the past you keep trying to change it. January 2015 was the first playoff. 2016 was the second. This year is the third.

Try to keep up.... or at least count out really loud.

There's a reason why the Trail of Tears ended in Oklahoma. They laugh at Dixie and the South but their own state is a giant Indian reservation.

About the Joe Mixon post I made earlier in this thread...

I don't want to come off sounding like what he did was a wise or good thing. That tape was absolutely brutal to watch, and leading up to the assault one could see what was likely about to occur. It just seems as though she could have at least tried not to provoke the dude with the slap/punch after the initial insignificant shove she gave him. On the other hand, however, that punch was absolutely brutal and uncalled for and he could have handled it a better way--e.g., just walking away from the confrontation with the girl he doesn't even know.

Make no mistake about it, Stoops' decision to not kick him off the team will tarnish his reputation and legacy at OU to a great degree, and the legal punishment was unusually soft for assaulting someone that way.

I think vast majority of the people posting here would never consider responding the way Mixon did in that restaurant, and let's hope the girl recovered well and somehow at least gets recompensated for that. Mixon probably should have been doing time for that hit, especially since it broke bones.

Just my honest opinion, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game against Auburn if Mixon wasn't playing in it. Perrine would have stepped up on his own.
